Indianapolis Colts @ Buffalo Bills. This is actually going to be a great game. Tyrod Taylor isn't Andrew Luck, but he's still a better quarterback than people give him credit for. The Bills had an outstanding defensive unit last season, and the hiring of Rex Ryan should continue that trend. LeSean McCoy is probable, so he will likely play. As explosive as the Colts offense is projected to be, I'm still going with the Bills at home. Final score: Bills 21, Colts 17.
Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears. Are the Bears who we think they are? Right now, they seem like a team in contention for the first overall pick in 2016. Alshonn Jeffery is struggling with a hamstring injury and may not play this week, which would leave Eddie Royal as the #1 WR in this offense. While Eddie Royal may have a good fantasy week, the Bears will not have a good week against the Packers. Final score: Packers 35, Bears 14.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Houston Texans. These are two very similar teams. Game manager-type quarterbacks and strong running games. Strong defenses. If Arian Foster were healthy, this would almost be a lock for the Texans. That being said, the Texans defense should still be strong enough to shut down Jamaal Charles. This is going to be a close game, but the Texans win at home. Final score: Texans 20, Chiefs 17.
Carolina Panthers @ Jacksonville Jaguars. The Panthers are in dire need of help at WR. The Jaguars are quietly putting together solid units on both sides of the ball. This will actually be a pretty close game, and the Jaguars have the weapons to win at home. Final score: Jaguars 24, Panthers 14.
Cleveland Browns @ New York Jets. This is a depressing game to look at. The Browns and Jets are both factories of quarterback sadness. When is the last time the Browns or Jets had a long-term franchise quarterback? Sure, the Jets rented Brett Favre for a season, but between these teams we're looking at players like Chad Pennington, Vinny Testaverde, Brian Hoyer, and Tim Couch. Now Johnny Manziel is in and out of rehab and Geno Smith is rehabbing his jaw. This is going to be a close game, but the hapless Browns "offense" will struggle more against the Jets defense than Ryan Fitzpatrick and friends will struggle against the Browns defense. Final score: Jets 10, Browns 7.
Seattle Seahawks @ St. Louis Rams. If Gurley was healthy, I'd give this game to the Rams. Even without Gurley, this is going to be a very close game. St. Louis is a far better team than they get credit for, especially defensively, and this will be a defensive matchup. The Seahawks win this one in close fashion. Final score: Seahawks 21, Rams 20.
Miami Dolphins @ Washington Redskins. It's Superbowl VII rematch time! The Dolphins are a borderline playoff team, and the Redskins are circling in a downward spiral of mediocrity and decline. Miami will be too much for the Redskins to handle, even at home, and the Dolphins win this game. Final score Dolphins 27, Redskins 15.
New Orleans Saints @Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals are a playoff team, as long as Carson Palmer is healthy. The Arizona defense should be strong enough to contain Drew Brees, and the Cardinals offense will be solid with Palmer at the helm. Final score: Cardinals 28, Saints 14.
Detroit Lions @ San Diego Chargers. The Denzel Perryman era begins in San Diego, and I'm watching excitedly. The Chargers have the potential to be a dominant team this season, and that begins against the Lions. While Detroit is also a playoff team, the Chargers will start out 1-0. Final score: Chargers 24, Lions 21.
Baltimore Ravens @ Denver Broncos. This is a game that could go either way. I think Peyton Manning does at least enough to sustain an offensive push and put points on the board. The Denver defense will be dominant this season and will be enough to shut down Justin Forsett and Joe Flacco. Broncos win, 28-14.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Oakland Raiders. If Aldon Smith plays, this will be a difficult game for Cincinnati to win. Even if he doesn't, it's going to be a close game. That being said, the Bengals have a more complete team, and will do what they need to to win (especially since this isn't a prime time game). Final score: Bengals 24, Raiders 21.
Tennessee Titans @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers. These are both teams in a rebuilding process with new franchise quarterbacks. The Buccaneers have more weapons than the Titans, and while I expect Dorial Green-Beckham to catch his first career TD pass against the Bucs, I think the Bucs will win this game. Final Score: Buccaneers 22, Titans 10.
New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys. These Cowboys-Giants games are always tough to call. Neither team has an established running back, but the Giants are the weaker unit and are playing on the road. One Cowboys running back will put up decent fantasy numbers, but which running back is it? We'll find out Sunday night. Final score; Cowboys 28, Giants 24.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Atlanta Falcons. Everybody is talking about Chip Kelly and Sam Bradford. While the Eagles are going to be a competitive team this season, I expect the Falcons to perform well this week. This game will ultimately be a very close game, but the Falcons are at home, and I'll give them the edge here. Final score: Falcons 28, Eagles 27.
Minnesota Vikings @ San Francisco 49ers. Adrian Peterson is back, Mike Wallace is in town, and the Vikings offense looks dangerous. The 49ers just keep losing players. The Vikings are a team on the rise while the 49ers are a team on the decline. I expect Bridgewater and the Vikings to have a solid game this week against the 49ers, unless Marvin Lewis' prime time woes are contagious and Mike Zimmer gets them too. Final score: Vikings 35, 49ers 14.
--Mike B. Current record 1-0.
Colts @ Bills - This is going to be a close game. The Bills defense is absolutely incredible, and they showed it last year. This year, they have some offensive upgrades. Tyrod Taylor at QB, and LeSean McCoy at RB to name a couple. The Bills have some definite upside potential this year, and I believe they are going to finish 2nd in their division, behind the Patriots. The Colts have a decent team, but they are going to have a tough time against the Bills at home. I'm calling for a Bills win since they are at home, in a low scoring game. Bills win, 17-14.
Packers @ Bears - Did you know that the Bears - Packers rivalry record is 93-91-6 with the Bears leading? I just found out yesterday. Check it out here if you don't believe me. Aaron Rodgers is the best QB in the league right now, hands down. The Bears have a mediocre team, and they are going to struggle against the Packers. I have a feeling that the Packers will tie the rivalry record this year. Packers win on the road, 27-16.
Seahawks @ Rams - This is going to be a fun game to watch. Both teams have great defenses, and both teams have good offenses. However, Seattle has an edge on offense due to Marshawn Lynch (a.k.a. Beast mode, a.k.a. Skittles,) and Russell Wilson. This is going to be a low scoring game. Seahawks win on the road, 17-13.
Browns @ Jets - This game is a tough one to call. Both teams are struggling at QB. This will be an interesting game to watch, just to see how it pans out. I honestly do not really know what to say about this game, other than my prediction. Browns win on the road, 20-17.
Dolphins @ Redskins - The Dolphins seem to get a tiny bit better each year, and the Redskins seem to get worse as time goes on. The Dolphins have a better team than the Redskins. There's not really much more to say. Dolphins win this one, 23-13.
Panthers @ Jaguars - The Jaguars got an upgrade at RB in the off-season. Welcome to the NFL, TJ Yeldon. The key to the Jags winning this game is going to be their offensive line. If they can protect Bortles long enough for him to find his receivers, as well as block well enough for Yeldon to gain some yards, there are going to be some happy Jacksonville fans. The Panthers have an okay team, nothing too special. Cam is going to have a hard time as long as he stays in Carolina. Jaguars win at home, 24-20.
Chiefs @ Texans - This game is a toss-up. Its hard to call the winner of this game. JJ Watt is going to make the difference on the defensive side for the Texans. Due to Arian Foster's injury, it will be interesting to see how the Texans move the ball down the field. Jamaal Charles is going to make the difference in this game for the Chiefs. Charles is a threat due to his great running and great catching abilities. Chiefs win a tight game on the road, 17-13.
Saints @ Cardinals - Carson Palmer is going to be the difference maker in this game. The Cardinals have a pretty solid team, and they don't really get all the credit they deserve. I feel like Arizona isn't talked about as much as some other teams. The Cardinals win this one at home, 27-20.
Lions @ Chargers - I am going to enjoy watching this game. Both teams have great upsides, and I feel that its going to be a high-scoring game. Phillip Rivers is one of the better QB's of the league, and I believe he's underrated. With the add-on of Melvin Gordon at RB, this team has a good offense. The Lions offense has not changed much from last season. Stafford, Johnson, Tate and Bell. These 4 are the playmakers of the Lion's offense. Although, Joique Bell is not the best RB a team could ask for. The Lions could really use a dominant RB. But, they are stuck with Bell. The Chargers have a better offense overall, and I think it will show in today's game. Chargers win at home, 27-21.
Ravens @ Broncos - I have heard from so many Ravens fans that they think Flacco is a great QB, and he deserves all of the money that he's getting. They are wrong. Flacco is a very inconsistent QB, and he is not very accurate. The last season that Joe looked good was 2013. This was when Anquan Boldin was still on their team. Boldin would catch almost anything Flacco threw in his general direction. Now that Boldin is gone, the Ravens have suffered. This season, the Ravens also lost Torrey Smith. I would not be surprised at all if the Ravens did not make the playoffs this year. Their team has gotten worse each year after they won the Superbowl. On the flip side, the Broncos have a strong team. They have the veteran, Peyton Manning, who enjoys shredding defenses in his free time. They have an arsenal of receivers, and the Raven's secondary is going to struggle a lot. Broncos scare the Ravens off at home, winning 30-17.
Bengals @ Raiders - Did you know that the Raiders are 10-0 when playing the Bengals at home? Yea, me neither. Here's the link if you care to look for yourself. Do you think that Oakland can hold off Cincinnati and retain their win streak? I do. With the add-on of Amari Cooper, Oakland has a glimmering hope of doing well this year. The Raiders win a tough game at home, 17-14.
Titans @ Buccaneers - The Buccaneers have not shown much potential in the past to be a strong team. But, there is a possibility of the Bucs doing something better this year with Winston at QB. But, the Titans also got a new QB. Marcus Mariota. Although, the Bucs have more threats than the Titans do. Bucs win the opening game at home, 20-13.
Giants @ Cowboys - The Cowboys have the definite edge in this game. They have a better QB, and better receivers. Neither team has stellar RB's, but the Cowboys have the edge in that category as well. Eli can only hope to throw the ball to his own teammates, and hopefully he can score for his team. But, even if Eli can avoid turnovers, the Cowboys win big, 35-13.
Eagles @ Falcons - The Eagles got a new QB in town. Welcome, Mr. Injuries. Whoops, I'm sorry. Meant to say Sam Bradford. Bradford is actually a much better QB then people give him credit for. He just needs to stay healthy long enough during the season so that he can prove that. His injuries are so bad that Eagles fans started a petition to get Pope Francis to bless his legs when he visits Philadelphia in the next few months. The Eagles changed 2 big positions, their QB and RB. It will be interesting to see how DeMarco fits in with his new team this season. Although the Falcons have a good team, I feel that the Eagles will come out on top. Philadelphia wins, 24-20.
Vikings @ 49ers - The series between these teams is tied after 45 games, at 22-22-1. Check it out here. I'm not sorry to say that Kaepernick is not what the 49ers need to be successful. No team needs him to be successful. The 49ers are struggling at QB and RB. They have Anquan Boldin at receiver, who is the only thing keeping Kaepernick in the NFL, and they also recently acquired Torrey Smith. Torrey Smith has speed, but his catching abilities are not all that spectacular. Ravens fans made him seem better than he actually is. On the other side, the Vikings offense has gotten better. Adrian Peterson is back, and he's been training hard for his return. Bridgewater also has a season under his belt, and he can now show us what the NFL has taught him. Mike Wallace will also be a contributing factor in Minnesota's victory. Vikings win, 24-17.

Week One Predictions 2015
Packers @ Bears (1PM/ET): Well this should be a slaughter to be honest even if on the road. The Bears have no defense at all and their receivers are extremely damaged goods. The Packers have Aaron Rodgers and that is automatically someone capable of bringing a win. I really think we could be watching the A-Rod show. Packers win 37 – 17 over the Bears.
Chiefs @ Texans (1PM/ET): This game is going to be very interesting to me. Two top level defenses with questions at QB. The Chiefs have Alex Smith who hasn’t thrown a TD to a WR in over a full 16 game season. The other QB is Brian Hoyer who in my opinion didn’t deserve the start in Houston and I believe will be replaced at some point. The defenses will make the difference and I think that Houston has a slight edge in that department. I am going to take Texans win 24 – 20 over the Chiefs.
Browns @ Jets (1PM/ET): Here are two teams trying to avoid another last place finish in their divisions. The Browns will be using McCown at QB and I just like Joe Thomas agree that it is a mistake, and it should be Johnny Manziel’s turn to prove himself. Now the Jets had a good looking Geno this preseason before a fight with a teammate broke his jaw. This game could be a great defensive battle and be fun to watch if you like those kind of games. I am going to take the Jets at home with Brandon Marshall having a quiet game thanks to Joe Haden. Jets win 17 – 10 over the Browns.
Colts @ Bills (1PM/ET): UPSET SPECIAL! I am going to pick against the Andrew Lucks because they have absolutely no defense and they are going on the road to see a team that only allowed 12 TD passes all of last season. That is incredible when you consider the fact that they played Brady, Tannehill, and Rodgers all last season in Buffalo. Everyone seems to be picking the Colts because of Luck but you can’t win when you can’t defend. I got the Bills win 20 – 17 over the Colts.
Dolphins @ Redskins (1PM/ET): I will be shocked if the Redskins score more than 20 in this game and I believe Tannehill will shred the Skins lack of a defense. Dolphins are just continuing to grow and develop becoming a great team in the NFL. This will be no fun Cousins either because the Dolphins defense is improving as well. Dolphins win 31 – 17 over the Redskins.
Panthers @ Jaguars (1PM/ET): The Panthers are in trouble at WR and their running game is suspect. They will be playing a young improving Jaguars team. Both teams have a solid defense but the Panthers defense is a good bit better than the Jags. The Jags terrible o-line will struggle to protect their young QB and Bortles better watch out. I am going to take the Panthers win 20 – 17 over the Jaguars.
Seahawks @ Rams (1Pm/ET): Seahawks defense took some hits at corners but I think Pete Carrol and the energy this team plays with will be enough to keep this defense top 10. The Rams though have a defense that is continuing to improve and with Jeff Fisher that is no surprise. The Rams have Foles now at QB and hopefully he can manage to stay healthy. I think everyone is overlooking the Rams in this one but I think it will be a lot closer than most suspect. I am going to take Seahawks win 25 – 21 over the Rams.
Saints @ Cardinals (4PM/ET): Drew Brees versus a healthy Carson Palmer could actually be fun especially with the WR’s both teams have. Now Arizona has an incredible defense and the Saints not so much and I think this will be the difference in the game. I am so excited for this game because I love watching Patrick Peterson and the “honey badger”. I am going to take the Cardinals win 27 – 17 over the Saints.
Lions @ Chargers (4PM/ET): Melvin Gordon vs. Abdullah, Rivers v. Stafford, Keenan Allen vs. Calvin Johnson, this game could seriously be as exciting as they get this weekend. I know I am beyond excited for this match up as it has two teams with almost identical buildup on both offense and defense and I think it will come down to which team has the edge on defense. If you look at the rosters it is close but I give that edge to the Chargers just due to their incredible linebackers and Verrett and Weddle. I think the Chargers win 32 – 27 over the Lions.
Titans @ Buccaneers (4:25PM/ET): Winston vs. Mariota for the first time in history the two first picks of the draft at QB will be squaring off as starters week one. Winston might not be the better career QB but he is set up for a more successful season than Mariota this year. I think it soley comes down to having Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson out wide. I love both teams growing defenses. The weaknesses on both teams come at O-Line and running back, it is really ugly. I am having a hard time with this game but I think the fans excitement around Winston will bring him the push he needs to outperform his opponent and win this thing. I think the Buccaneers win 20 – 19 over the Titans.
Bengals @ Raiders (4:25PM/ET): Well the Bengals are a great regular season team. The Raiders are a young improving team with Aldon Smith now playing opposite of the beast incarnate Khalil Mack. The Raiders drafted Amari Cooper at WR and signed Michael Crabtree and I think that will help Derek Carr grow and become one of the better QB’s out of last year’s draft. The Bengals still have a good defense and they will look to use that to keep the Raiders at bay in a game on the bay. I think Dalton tries to silence his haters and the Bengals win 27 – 21 over the Raiders.
Ravens @ Broncos (4:25PM/ET): Here we go embarking on what will most likely be Peyton’s final season. This match-up is fun for a guy like me because you got a legend during the regular season in Peyton Manning and then average Joe during the regular season. The funny thing is when it gets to the post season the script is flipped and Peyton is average at best and Joe is almost legendary in the post-season. I think the Broncos are without a doubt the better team in this matchup. They have better receiving, better running backs, better defense, and the better QB. I truly believe that the Broncos win 34 – 21 over the Ravens.
Giants @ Cowboys (8:30PM/ET): Sunday night football is going to be a division clash. The Giants are improving and OBJ is going to continue improving. The Giants defense is pretty weak and I think against the Cowboys strong offense that means trouble. The Cowboys are still strong on defense and their receiving corps is pretty dang good. Now the weakness on the Cowboys is their running game because it is absolutely pathetic even behind the NFL’s best O-line. I think the home team wins this game picking the Cowboys win 37 – 24 over the Giants.
Eagles @ Falcons (7:10PM/ET): The Eagles are hoping their trade for Bradford will pan out and he won’t get hurt again. The Falcons didn’t do too much in the offseason except add defense and replace Harry Douglas with Hankerson. This game will be a shootout of two QB’s letting the ball fly as the lack of defense on both teams and the Falcons lack of a true ground game will make for great games for the QB’s. I think that Matty-Ice is the better QB and has the better targets so in the end Falcons win 31 – 28 over the Eagles.
Vikings @ 49ers (10:20PM/ET): Oh how I will not be missing this game. I think the Niners are the worst team in the NFL this season as they lost a lot of talent to retirement or free agency. The Vikings on the other hand are getting back Adrian Peterson, added Mike Wallace, and Bridgewater improved even more. I think Kaepernick is arguably one of the worst starting QB’s in the NFL. I personally have believed in they gave the chance to Gabbert he could actually lead the Niners down a better path. Now I think that the Vikings will open the season at Levi Stadium home of Superbowl 50 and pull out the win. Vikings win 32 – 17 over the 49ers.
- Matt Koontz. (Record 1-0)
Indianapolis Colts @ Buffalo Bills. No. I do not think the bills will win this one like everyone else does. Colts 30 - 17.
Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears. The Pack. Packers 34-24.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Houston Texans. I believe in the Chiefs this year. Maclin Will make a huge difference! Texans will have a defense and that's about all. Chiefs 27-13.
Carolina Panthers @ Jacksonville Jaguars. I'm taking the Jags in this one. Carolina doesn't have a lot of receivers and the Jags are looking better every day. Jaguars 20-17.
Cleveland Browns @ New York Jets. Battle of the losers. Jets 17-14.
Seattle Seahawks @ St. Louis Rams. It's in Saint Louis, Wilson looked poor in the preseason, the Hawks often start the season slowly. Rams 16 -14.
Miami Dolphins @ Washington Redskins. No. Cousins is not the future. Put that boy McCoy in! Miami 24-17.
New Orleans Saints @Arizona Cardinals. Cardinals all the way. At home. The return of Palmer. You betchya! Cardinals 28-19.
Detroit Lions @ San Diego Chargers. I've gotta take the Lions in this one. They're the more complete team. Lions 31-24.
Baltimore Ravens @ Denver Broncos. Denver's D will put enough pressure on Flacco to keep him from making a lot of big plays. Baltimore's D will have to do the same to Manning. In the end, this game will come down to whoever makes the more defensive plays. Denver will. Denver 27-24.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Oakland Raiders. So many people are claiming this is the Raiders year to break out and win 3x more games than they have in the last 3 season. Sorry, but they're in a stacked division again. I don't see it happening. Bengals 30-16.
Tennessee Titans @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mariota > Winston. 'Nuff said. Titans 26 - 17.
New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys. The Giants aren't looking any better than last year, in fact OBJ played horribly in preseason so they're looking worse. Cowboys just got Christine Michaels who should start for them or at least share a lot of carries. Cowboys 24-13.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Atlanta Falcons. This one is a no brainer in my opinion. The Eagles look great, the falcons look so-so. Eagles 35-24
Minnesota Vikings @ San Francisco 49ers. AP is back in tow. Teddy Bridgewater looks like a breakout star, and the Niners looked awful in preseason. Vikings 27-20.
