Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ St. Louis Rams. I have to go with the Buccaneers in this game. Jameis Winston is finally coming into his own as an NFL quarterback and has shown flashes of greatness. He has weapons around him, including Mike Evans, Vincent Jackson, and rebounding running back Doug Martin. The Rams only offensive weapon is Todd Gurley; yes, you can argue that Tavon Austin counts as an offensive weapon, but the Rams have only generated 8 passing touchdowns this season, so I have no confidence in their passing game. Yes, the Rams have a dominant front 7 on defense. However, the Bucs are by far the better team, and are starting to get hot at the right time. Winston brings this one home, and keeps the Bucs in the playoff race. Final score: Buccaneers 28, Rams 14.
Bonus pick. New York Jets @ Dallas Cowboys. This game is on Saturday, as the NFL continues to screw with us all and schedule games on a day that should be reserved for college football at the end of the season. I chose to include my pick here instead of with my weekly picks. That being said, New York Jets all the way. Jets still stands for Just End The Season this week, but this season that is a reference to the Cowboys rather than the normally hapless Jets (who are still in playoff contention late in the year). Dallas has been terrible without Tony Romo, and Ryan Fitzpatrick is a much better quarterback than Matt Cassel. The Jets defense has also been solid, and Brandon Marshall is having an outstanding season. The Jets should win this game easily. Final score: Jets 27, Cowboys 7.
