Thursday Night Football Week 4 Edition: Dolphins @ Bengals

9/28/2016

This week the 1-2 Miami Dolphins travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals on Thursday night. The last time the Dolphins and Bengals faced off on a Thursday night was on Halloween night in 2013. The Dolphins beat the Bengals, 22-20, and Cincinnati lost Geno Atkins for the season with a torn ACL. The previous week, Cincinnati wide receiver Marvin Jones scored 4 touchdowns against the Jets. Miami's leading receivers that week? Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline. These teams are in very different situations than they were just three short seasons ago, but both come into this game desperately needing a win. Both are 1-2, and third place in their respective divisions. Miami head coach Adam Gase has told his players that they need to either perform better or lose playing time. Cincinnati head coach Marvin Lewis has been historically bad in prime time games throughout his career. This is a big game for both teams. Who will win? Here are some picks:

This is a game that the Cincinnati Bengals should win. However, this is also a game that the Bengals tend to lose. Marvin Lewis has struggled in prime time and playoff situations throughout his career. This has happened with Jon Kitna, Andy Dalton, and Carson Palmer under center. So far this season, Cincinnati has made far too many sloppy mistakes; this is not the well-coached Cincinnati team that we have seen in years past. While Vontaze Burfict will return from his suspension, that may not be enough to help Cincinnati exorcise their prime time demons. I don't have much faith in the Dolphins as a whole right now, but this is a game that I think that the Dolphins win based on Cincinnati's miscues. Final score: Miami Dolphins 28, Cincinnati Bengals 14. --Mike B (27-21)

This game is a primetime game and that worries me because Marvin Lewis can't coach primetime to save his life. But i think the big issue in this game is going to be the Dolphins depleted offensive line. I think that offensive line is going to be the X-Factor tonight and the Bengals strong front 7 will capitalize. Final Score: Bengals win 26 - 18 over the Dolphins -- Matt Koontz (25-23)

My thought process solely rests on Cincinnati's inability to preform in prime time. Miami wins in the upset 21-20 over the Bengals.-- Jared M. (25-23)

I am not sure why but I think Miami pulls the upset today over the Bengals. This is a game the Bengals should win but I think they will fall flat tonight. Miami wins 26-24 over Bengals--Joshua H.

The Bengals arguably face a must-win game on Thursday night. That and the combination of playing at home will finally break the Bengal's primetime curse. Bengals 23, Dolphins 20
Andy Clary

The Bengals defensive line will overpower the Dolphins O-line. AJ Green and Dalton lead Cincinnati to a Thursday night win. Bengals 27, Dolphins 17
-Carson Reid

Dolphins @ Bengals: I know that the Bengals have a bad reputation while playing in primetime games, but they're at home, and they have a better team than the Dolphins. Cincinnati wins in a close game tonight. My prediction: Bengals win, 24-23.
