This matchup actually has some serious playoff implications. Neither of these teams are likely to win the AFC East. However, both of these teams have a chance to make a push for a wildcard spot. There are four teams currently leading the push for wildcard playoff berths. The Jets are 5-3 and the Bills are 4-4. The Steelers are 5-4, and the Raiders are 4-4. Right now, the Jets and Steelers are in, and the Raiders and Bills are out. A Bills win this week could make things interesting. A Jets win would keep the Jets in a great position, especially if the Steelers lose this week. Who will win? Here are some predictions.
Rex Ryan will try his hardest to defeat his former team this week. That being said, Ryan has given the Jets a rallying cry of sorts by naming Enemkpali a captain this week. Instead of just focusing on winning this week, Ryan is trying to play mind games against his former team, and that could lead to a lack of focus and preparation on the Bills part. Buffalo is also suffering from some injuries, including LeSean McCoy and Percy Harvin. I think that Rex overthinks this game and that the Jets win at home (with Ryan Fitzpatrick defeating his former team in the process). However, this will be an extremely fun game to watch. Final score: Jets 27, Bills 21. -- Mike B. (81-51)
Tyrod in primetime for the first time in his NFL career as a starter. Watkins seems ready to go. I got Bills all day. Bills 24 - Jets 20.
