Thursday night rolls around and we have two teams who played in separate games last Thursday now playing against each other this Thursday. This one should actually be a pretty simple game to predict but here we go.
Cowboys @ Vikings: The Vikings come into this game off yet another loss after a fantastic start they seem to be headed to the bottom half of their division because their offense is a complete nightmare. They can barely pass the ball and their run game sucks while they wait for AP to return from yet another injury riddled season. The Vikings collapse has been sad to watch and I say that even being a Packers fan from birth. The Cowboys on the other hand are the best sheep in a wolf costume I have ever seen. Look I am not saying they don't have talent and they shouldn't be a top 10 team. But let's look back at who they have played this season. They played the worst division leaders in the league in the Ravens and a Redskins team on a short week on the road following a sunday night game. That is their two impressive wins this season. Their loss came at home to the team in 2nd in their division. They have weapons but the one thing I will say about Jerry Jones is he reinvented how teams should draft. He attacked the O-Line and now their offense is unstoppable because they can run all day. The Cowboys will be tested next week, and if they win next week I will believe they are real, but this week should be an easy one for them. Cowboys win 30 - 17 over the Vikings.
----- Matt Koontz (101-74)
This week, Mike Zimmer's current team (and the team that gave him his first opportunity as an NFL head coach) the Vikings host Mike Zimmer's former team, the Dallas Cowboys (the team where Mike Zimmer began to make a name for himself as an NFL defensive coordinator). Zimmer's Vikings started the season strong, but have imploded due to injuries. The Cowboys have started stronger. While Dallas hasn't exactly faced a tough schedule, their record shows that they can win games. Dallas can clinch a playoff berth this weekend with a win over the Vikings and either a Tampa Bay Buccaneers loss or tie, or Washington loss. Mike Zimmer is questionable for Thursday's game with emergency eye surgery, and here at www.mattandmikesports.com we send him our best wishes for a full and quick recovery. That being said, I think the Cowboys win this game. Minnesota just has too much inconsistency right now. Final score: Dallas Cowboys 27, Minnesota Vikings 14. --Mike B.
Cowboys over Vikings 28-14
I was originally going to say cowboys will win, but after consideration, I don't think they will go 15-1 this year, and this is the best chance they have of losing. Minnesota's defense shows up and shuts down. Minnesota over Dallas 24-21
Cowboys beat the Vikings, 27-17.
