Week 11 in the NFL: On week 11 ended with 2 really good close games. The Cardinals turned in a bad winning performance last week and the Packers turned in the worst performance of the week. The bye week teams are at the count of 4 this week and those 4 teams are the Falcons, the Chargers, the Jets, and the Broncos. This weekend will be interesting and it could see some teams just basically become logically eliminated from the playoffs. I actually believe this week’s most crucial matchup is the Titans and Colts as it could help decide which team is going to take out the Texans at the top of the division. Here we go week 11!!
Steelers @ Browns: Well look what we have here, a divisional rivalry game for the 2nd consecutive week for the Browns. The Steelers are coming off 3 losses in a row and need to figure things out or they will see Mike Tomlin lose his job. This game is going to be interesting because regardless that his is Hue’s first year he is under preforming as head coach if you ask me because that team is so much better than 0-10 talent wise. I am just disappointed in them watching them play. Sitting Kessler last week was the dumbest move of the year. Now the Steelers are struggling with a terrible defense and an inconsistent Big Ben. UPSET ALERT!! Browns win 27 – 23 over the Steelers.
Ravens @ Cowboys: Oh man this game is going to be fun. This game features the number 1 defense overall versus the number 3 offense. The best run D vs the best run offense. The 5th ranked pass defense vs. the 3rd ranked passing offense. I am really not sure why everyone thinks the Cowboys are so phenomenal, they have only beat 2 teams with a winning record and 2 defenses that are in the top 10. I am not sold. The Cowboys have beaten teams with a combined winning percentage of .369, and haven't beat a team at the top of a division yet. They are now facing a top team in their respective devision. I really want to see them against top competition. The Ravens are not a better team don’t get me wrong but they have the more reliable defense and I think post-season time the more reliable defense pans out. I think this game has a very interesting ending and comes down to the final drive. I am going upset again I guess. Ravens win 21 – 18 over the Cowboys, Ravens defense makes Dak struggle.
Jaguars @ Lions: Eh I am not sure how the Jaguars will look this week but if they can get their offense flying they could keep pace with the Lions and actually make this a game. I think the offenses will fly but the better more experienced team will pick up the win. Lions win 30 – 25 over the Jaguars.
Titans @ Colts: This is my game of the week and I wish this was made Sunday night football. Why, you make ask? Because I think the winner of this game will go on to win the division at the end of the year, I am simply just not sold by the Texans at the top. I mean if you watched the Titans last week you will see why this team is actually for real. They have so many good pieces and their team is just growing more and more together. Mariota is untouchable in the redzone and their ground game is amazing. I think this is the big test for the Titans, can they keep momentum and pick up back to back impressive wins. The Colts though have impressed me more as the year has gone on and Luck is finally getting pieces back on offense healthy and it is helping him show that he really has the talent we thought he had. I am so pumped for this game and I have no idea who to take, for me it is a flip of the coin. Titans win in a close one 29 – 27 over the Colts.
Bills @ Bengals: The battle between two teams who could be without a head coach at the end of the season taking place in Cincy. The Bills mediocre defense and the Bengals below average defense should make this interesting because Dalton has failed to impress me this year and Tyrod has proven to be the beast of the Bills. I love this matchup but I am having a tough time figuring out who has the better chance to turn around their terrible luck as of late. The Bills should have fired Rob Ryan during their bye-week but I guess they are okay with mediocre. I think the difference makers are going to be Robert Woods for the Bills passing game and then AJ of course who else for the Bengals. I am going to take the Bills just because they looked good against Seattle who I think is honestly the best team in the league. Bills win 26 – 23 over the Bengals.
Buccaneers @ Chiefs: I might have picked the Bears to beat the Buccaneers last week but boy was I wrong. The Bucs offense looked good their defense looked average. The Bucs have some life on their roster it will just be a while before they reach playoff good. Their opponent last week came back from a 17-0 deficit to wind 20-17. The Chiefs are a really good team with a solid defense who is getting leaders back as the year goes on that started the year injured and their offense is just consistent. The thing that separates them this year from themselves last year is that the Chiefs have a spark plug on offense this season. I think the Buccaneers battle in this one but they will fall short. Chiefs win 24 – 20 over the Buccaneers.
Bears @ Giants: Oh man the Bears luck just keeps getting worse, Cutler has lost the respect of his teammates and Alshon is now suspended for 4 weeks. This team under Cutler and John Fox looks like it is headed to a 2-14 final record if they play like this for the rest the way. The Giants on the other hand are the only team in their division I think can catch the Cowboys and win this division. They have an extremely underrated defense and their offense is struggling but if it can find itself they could be a top 6 offense. The Giants should consider a new RB to their roster because their ground game is pretty ugly, but none the less they have potential offensively. This game should be a win they could pick up without Eli. Giants win 30 – 16 over the Bears.
Cardinals @ Vikings: The toss up game of the week, meaning this game’s line is even on most betting lines and I see why. The Cardinals I thought before the years start were world champs with only the Pats to worry about and they just look like they can’t figure anything out right now. The Vikings on the other hand started the year 5-0 and are now looking at a 5-4 record. They have yet to pick up a win since their bye and it is getting ugly too. This game is a toss up because the Vikings offense is 32nd in the league yet their defense is 3rd in the league. The Cardinals have the 7th ranked offense though and 2nd ranked defense. The only issue I have with Arizona is can they win on the road here and find their way back to building up so momentum. They have the more talented roster it is just about putting pieces together. This should be a good one. Cardinals win 21 – 17 over the Vikings.
Dolphins @ Rams: The Dolphins have picked up 4 wins in a row and are coming off an impressive win over the Chargers. Their defense is finally starting to come around and their ground game has gotten good. The only knock on the Dolphins is Ryan Tannehill’s lack of ability to be a dominant QB and he has the weapons to be. The Rams on the other hand are coming off a boring win of 9-6 over the Jets but there is good news for the Rams. Jared Goff is starting finally and we will see the future of the Rams and I think it will be a bright one. Goff might struggle a few games this year as he tries to figure out the NFL but I think in the end the kid is the next Matt Ryan and Phillip Rivers. This game might start rough for Goff or he could do well since the Dolphins have no film of his development to work off of. This game is very intriguing. I believe defense wins games and the Rams are ranked 7th in the NFL defensively and the Dolphins are 20th. Rams win 24 – 23 over the Dolphins. Goff puts up 3 TD’s and 1 INT in his NFL debut.
Patriots @ 49ers: Oh I can’t wait until this game because there is nothing better on football Sunday than the slaughter of Colin Kaepernick. The 49ers have the worst ranked defense in the league and the 29th ranked offense in the league. They have the worst starting QB now in the league, with Case no longer starting for the Rams. The 49ers are atrocious and deserve to be 0-9 with how horrible they are. The Patriots are coming off a heart-breaking loss and Tom Brady and Bellichick do not handle losses well so this could get ugly fast. Patriots win 42 – 17 over the 49ers.
Eagles @ Seahawks: Ok Philly actually impressed me last week but the thing Eagles fans like Jared need to understand is they played the Falcons 26th ranked defense last week and in Philly to boot. They will be taking their 17th ranked offense on the road to the west coast to face Seattle’s 9th ranked defense in front of the 12th man. I am not convinced at all by them and I think they will struggle on the west coast. The Seahawks on the other hand slowed down the Patriots in primetime in New England last weekend and now are headed home. Their offense starts the year slow every single year but they have picked it up as of late and I think they will look to continue that momentum. The Eagles 6th ranked defense will be tested here and I think Russell could get through them if he is truly healthy especially with Rawls back and Prosise behind him. I am leaning towards a possible upset here though with Philly and it took some research on the injury reports and the recent stats of the past few games to help me decide. Seahawks win 31 – 27 over the Eagles.
SNF (8:30 PM/ET):
Packers @ Redskins: The Packers signed Christine Michael to try and help their abysmal run game. They will most likely have him on a limited count this weekend just due to getting there on Wednesday and not getting a lot of time to learn the playbook plus he is dealing with a hamstring issue. The Packers have been just absolutely horrible at stopping the pass and they will be extremely tested this weekend on SNF. Aaron Rodgers has been okay but he looks like he is far from his peak now and could it be time to trade him in the off-season, I know it sounds crazy but why not while his value is still high. It is also time to get McCarthy gone and hire a new coach maybe a defensive coach and give the reigns of their offense to an offensive coordinator. The Redskins are just doing their job and I get more impressed by them a bit more each week. I think the Skins could make the playoffs as a very solid wildcard team. This offense is actually clicking unlike Green Bay’s they are the 4th best offense in the league statistically. Their defense is pretty weak though ranked 21st in the league as they will be facing the 10th ranked defense and 15th ranked offense. This game will come down to how good are the Packers still or are they just falling apart at the hinges. I think we will see the Packers suffer another loss and McCarthy’s fate be sealed for a firing at the end of the season. Redskins win 27 – 26 over the Packers.
MNF (8:30 PM/ET):
Texans @ Raiders: Monday night has the potential to be amazing. We get to see counter opposites collide on Monday night. The Texans have the 30th ranked offense but have the 4th ranked defense in the league. Their opponents have the 28th ranked defense but have the 5th ranked offense in the league. I am extremely interested in this game because I love top defense vs top offense. The issue is Derek Carr is a possible MVP of the league because they are incredible offensively under him. I think if the Raiders can get out front of the Texans early they will shut the door on the game early because Osweiller can’t keep up with anyone. The only reason the Texans don’t have the worst offense in the league is because Lamar Miller is trying his best to keep them in games but he can’t carry the whole offense on his shoulders. The Texans need to hope this offense can wake up because right now I think the Titans are going to take this division from them. Raiders win 30 – 20 over the Texans on Monday night. ---- Matt Koontz (80-66)
Baltimore Ravens @ Dallas Cowboys. I want to go with the Ravens in this game but the Cowboys have more weapons on offense. Baltimore's defense is outstanding, but I still think the Cowboys score just enough to win this matchup. Cowboys win. Final score: Dallas Cowboys 21, Baltimore Ravens 20.
Chicago Bears @ New York Giants. The Bears are who we thought they were...a very bad football team. The Bears play their way towards another loss as John Fox coaches his way out of Chicago unless he turns things around. Giants win. Final score: New York Giants 27, Chicago Bears 14.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns. The Cleveland Browns are a lot like the little engine that couldn't. You root for them, you hope for them, and every week you think that maybe, just maybe, they'll finally get a win. I've been guilty of that more than once this season, consistently picking them to get that first win. I'll throw in the towel this week; maybe I'm cursing them...or maybe they're just bad because they're the Cleveland Browns. We'll see. I'm going Steelers just in case. Final score: Pittsburgh Steelers 35, Cleveland Browns 14.
Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts. The Tennessee Titans win this one en route to winning their division, as Marcus Mariota puts up another lights out performance. No Dorial Green-Beckham? No problem! The Titans are looking surprisingly solid with their receiving corps of misfit toys. This team is making some noise, and they will beat the Colts this week. Final score: Tennessee Titans 24, Indianapolis Colts 21.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Detroit Lions. I love the talent on this Jacksonville team but they're just not getting it done. Meanwhile, Detroit is surprisingly looking like the best team in the NFC North right now. I think the Lions win this one. Final score: Detroit Lions 35, Jacksonville Jaguars 33.
Arizona Cardinals @ Minnesota Vikings. Both of these teams have playoff potential. Both of these teams are also struggling a bit down the stretch. The Cardinals are the healthier team in this matchup though, and I think that gives them the edge. Cardinals win. Final score: Arizona Cardinals 21, Minnesota Vikings 20.
Buffalo Bills @ Cincinnati Bengals. Both of these teams don't know how to finish! Just when you think they're a good team, they immediately do something stupid and tie in London or throw away a game they should have won. That being said, Marvin Lewis is a better finisher than Rex Ryan, and I think the Bengals squeak by the Boy I Love Losing Superbowls Bills. Final score: Cincinnati Bengals 23, Buffalo Bills 21.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Kansas City Chiefs. This should be a pretty interesting game. The Chiefs have been good from time to time and have some phenomenal pieces on defense. The Buccaneers are a team on the rise. A lot of people are picking the Chiefs in this one but I think Tampa Bay might win it. I'm going with the team with a pirate ship in their stadium! I'm going with the Bucs. Final score: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24, Kansas City Chiefs 14.
Miami Dolphins @ LA Rams. The Jared Goff era begins in LA, and the Rams roll this week against Miami. I expect Goff and the Rams to win this one at homes as Jared Goff shows critics why he was the first overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Rams win. Final score: LA Rams 21, Miami Dolphins 10.
New England Patriots @ San Francisco 49ers. This week the Patriots travel to San Francisco to face a team who's quarterback is so unpatriotic that he refuses to stand for the National Anthem. Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, and the Patriots will conspire to continue to deflate the 49ers hopes and dreams. You already know my pick. Patriots win. Final score: New England Patriots 77, San Francisco 49ers 7.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Seattle Seahawks. The Eagles look like a solid, solid football team with Carson Wentz, but the Seahawks just have more weapons right now. Seahawks win this one at home in this matchup between predatory birds. Final score: Seattle Seahawks 24, Philadelphia Eagles 22.
Green Bay Packers @ Washington Redskins. What is going on with the Packers?! Don't talk about playoffs right now, are you kidding me? They just need to win a game. So far this year they can't do diddley poo. This team plays regular season games like Jim Mora and Marvin Lewis coach postseason games. Sooner or later, Green Bay has to play to win the game. Until that happens, I have to pick the Washington Football Club to win. Final score: Washington Football Club 24, Green Bay Packers 14.
Houston Texans @ Oakland Raiders. Al Davis is probably smiling and yelling "speed kills" in his grave as he watches the resurgence of the Oakland Raiders. Unfortunately for the Texans, Brock Osweiler is struggling so far this season, and as former Raiders coach John Madden once said, "when your arm gets hit, the ball is not going to go where you want it to." The Raiders will look to hit Brock Osweiler's arm an awful lot this week. To go with another John Madden quote, "usually the team that scores the most points wins the game." The Raiders score the most points this week. The Raiders win the game! Final score: Oakland Raiders 27, Houston Texans 12.
--Mike B. (75-72).
Steelers @ Browns: The Browns are bad. My prediction: Steelers win, 26-17.
Ravens @ Cowboys: The Cowboys have the best record, but have played the worst teams. I know that the Ravens are the current top team in the AFC North, but that whole division is horrible this year. My prediction: Cowboys win, 24-16.
Jaguars @ Lions: The Jags have struggled a lot, and the Lions have pulled off some surprising wins. My prediction: Lions win, 23-17.
Titans @ Colts: I don't understand why the Colts are the favored team. The Titans have been dominant lately, and they have a higher ranked offense and defense. My prediction: Titans win, 35-27.
Bills @ Bengals: Both of these teams have terrible coaches. The team who wins has the better of these 2 terrible leaders. This game is a toss up. My prediction: Bills win, 17-16.
Buccaneers @ Chiefs: The Chiefs are clearly the better team. Also, they will be rallying around their long snapper, James Winchester, who lost his father in an airport shooting this week. My prediction: Chiefs win, 27-17.
Bears @ Giants: My prediction: Giants win, 23-20.
Cardinals @ Vikings: I'm really confused as to why the Vikings are the favorite for this game. They have been playing so bad since their bye week, and they're offense is absolutely horrendous. My prediction: Cardinals win, 24-13.
Dolphins @ Rams: I don't have a lot of faith in Goff. He seems like he has struggled a lot since he's been in the NFL. If Jay Ajayi continues to be a beast, the Dolphins will have this one easy. My prediction: Dolphins win, 23-13.
Patriots @ 49ers: The Patriots almost always destroy the team they play the week right after a loss. My prediction: Patriots win, 35-17.
Eagles @ Seahawks: I don't understand why the Seahawks are 7-point favorites because the Eagles are ranked higher both offensively and defensively. My prediction: Seahawks win, 23-22.
Packers @ Redskins: The Redskins have been shocking this year with their incredible offense. Also, they tend to play really well at home. My prediction: Redskins win, 27-20.
Texans @ Raiders: The Texans have not proved to me that they are truly a winning football team. They need a new QB. My prediction: Raiders win, 30-16.
