NFL Power Rankings week 5

NFL Power Rankings Week 5: Here come our new power rankings following a very interesting week 5. As I said last week a team’s record isn’t entirely indictive of where they stand.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (5-0) [2] {+1}: The Chiefs have an unstoppable offense as even the Jaguars couldn’t stop them. Their defense slowed down the Jaguars offense. I believe the Chiefs are the best team in the league.

2. LA Rams (5-0) [1] {-1}: The Rams struggled with Seattle last week. This defense in the secondary really isn’t as dangerous as people believe. I truly believe they can be passed on and a true offense will show that again. Should be an easier week for them against the Broncos this week.

3. New Orleans Saints (4-1) [5] {+2}: The Saints defense looked decent on Monday night football. I love their offense and Mark Ingram being back is a huge gain for this team. The Saints are the 2nd best NFC team and are a dangerous one.

4. LA Chargers (3-2) [16] {+12}: The Chargers honestly are a top team especially with Rivers and this offense. Their defense needs to improve some, but their biggest issue is their kicking game as it tends to be since they let Lambo go. Chargers only two loses are the Chiefs and Rams which is something to remember.

5. Cincinnati Bengals (4-1) [6] {+1}: The Bengals have an impressive roster and their coaching is showing some needed improvement this season. I still worry about them in the post season, but they are a great team.

6. Carolina Panthers (3-1) [8] {+2}: The Panthers are a team worth watching. They have Cam, McCaffery, Olsen is back soon, and a surprisingly impressive WR corps. Keep an eye on the Panthers with DJ Moore growing more and more they are going to be lethal offensively.

7. New England Patriots (3-2) [9] {+2}: The Patriots started slow, but here they come. Tom Brady has his weapons back. They have a great young RB, Sony Michel. Their best receiving option as of late is James White out of the backfield and I believe it makes them very hard to handle.

8. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2) [4] {-4}: Their defense was exposed last week by the Chiefs and their offense was once again inconsistent. I do worry about Fournette’s health because the Jaguars just went out and signed Jamal Charles which shows that Fournette could be worse off than we believe. We will see where the Jags are at the end of this week.

9. Baltimore Ravens (3-2) [7] {-2}: The Browns game was a divisional game, so it always is a tough one for the AFC North teams. The game honestly was a burn the tape game, by that I mean it was a game that didn’t really show how talented they are, and it was just a bad game for them.

10. Minnesota Vikings (2-2-1) [12] {+2}: The Vikings looked good last week and their defense turned it around just like I believed would happen with Mike Zimmer as their head coach. Keep an eye on these Vikings if their offense can get more points they will be a top 5 team fast.

11. Chicago Bears (3-1) [14] {+3}: The Bears are the worst team remaining with 1 loss. They are a good team, but I am not one of the crazy people believing they are elite. Khalil Mack is just like Aaron Rodgers for the Packers if he goes down they tank. The offense isn’t good enough to trust.

12. Tennessee Titans (3-2) [3] {-9}: The Titans are in the same boat as the Ravens. They just played a burn the tape game against the Bills, only reason I dropped them further than the Ravens is because their offense still hasn’t showed up this season.

13. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2-1) [18] {+5}: The Steelers finally showed up last week. Their offense didn’t impress me because they played the Falcons defense. Their defense though, really impressed me basically making the Falcons offense obsolete.

14. Green Bay Packers (2-2-1) [11] {-3}: The Packers flat out should have beat the Lions last week. They out played them defensively and out played them offensively. The difference in the game was 3 turnovers for the Packers offense and 5 missed field goals by Mason Crosby. YES, I said 5. Still a team to watch.

15. Philadelphia Eagles (2-3) [10] {-5}: The Eagles lost Jay Ajayi for the season. Their offense hasn’t really shown much life before they lost him, can’t imagine it will improve without him. Eagles aren’t returning to the Super Bowl this year.

16. Houston Texans (2-3) [22] {+6}: The Texans are starting to show life and with the Titans and Jags slipping last week this division is now wide open. Keke Coutee has given the Texans a new incredible weapon.

17. Seattle Seahawks (2-3) [21] {+4}: The Seahawks are starting to do be their normal selves. They always start slow and catch fire after the first quarter of the season. They handled their own against the Rams last week and nearly came out with a win.

18. Miami Dolphins (3-2) [15] {-3}: The Dolphins are a struggling team after 2 straight loses. The Dolphins aren’t out of it yet as they now share the division lead with the Patriots, but they have to right the ship right now.

19. Cleveland Browns (2-2-1) [27] {+8}: The Browns beat the Ravens on a down day. Can we stop claiming that game was won because of Baker Mayfield? The game was won by the Browns defense and that defense can keep them in some of these games against tougher teams.

20. Washington Redskins (2-2) [13] {-7}: The Skins are way too inconsistent to trust. Their defense got absolutely man handled and their offense didn’t impress against the Saints bad defense. The Skins need Alex Smith to play like an elite QB every single week.

21. Detroit Lions (2-3) [24] {+3}: The Lions are as inconsistent as the Redskins. They got lucky against the Packers and nothing more. They aren’t a better team than the Packers as proven by every statistic in that game with exception to the fumbles and kicking game. They are the worst team in the NFC North easily.

22. Dallas Cowboys (2-3) [19] {+3}: The Cowboys as I continue to say need WR’s for Dak and until then they will continue to struggle.

23. New York Jets (2-3) [31] {+8}: The Jets actually flat out impressed me last week. They shredded the Broncos defense; this Jets team will continue the ups and downs.

24. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-2) [23] {-1}: The Buccaneers are coming off a bye week and Winston is their starter again. I am waiting to see what they look like with him this year before I move them up with him at the wheel.

25. Denver Broncos (2-3) [17] {-8}: The Broncos offense has weapons but are failing to put it together. Their defense is beatable, and they just look incomplete. Their QB might be the issue honestly or the coaching.

26. New York Giants (1-4) [26] {=}: The Giants might have lost that game, but we saw the offense really come to play. The defense did show signs of weakness though and that concerns me some. Barkley needs to be more than just a pass catching back though if they want to reach their full potential.

27. Atlanta Falcons (1-4) [20] {-6}: The Falcons are going to have a bad year. This season is basically over for them at this point. Their defense is horrible and for some reason their offense couldn’t preform last week.

28. Buffalo Bills (2-3) [30] {+2}: The Bills are just like the Jets in many ways. They have nice pieces, but with a rookie QB they will have ups and downs.

29. Indianapolis Colts (1-4) [25] {-4}: The Colts got beat up by the Patriots last Thursday. The offense is not fully functioning, and their defense has gaping holes. The Colts are going to finish this season limping across the finish line.

30. Oakland Raiders (1-4) [28] {-2}: The Raiders got beat bad by the Chargers on Sunday. They are the worst team in the AFC. No defense and a very inconsistent offense are holding them back. I honestly don’t like Gruden as a coach in this modern era of football.

31. Arizona Cardinals (1-4) [32] {+1}: The Cardinals finally won a game last week. Their defense is still pretty bad, and their offensive line can’t open any holes for David Johnson. This team will continue to struggle.

32. San Francisco 49ers (1-4) [29] {-3}: The 49ers are coming off a tough loss and with Matt Breida being most likely sidelined for at least this week they will have a rough time. The 49ers are right now the worst team in the league.
