Thursday night football is upon us once again. This week, the Houston Texans travel to Foxborough to take on the New England Patriots. While New England is usually dominant at home they lack starting quarterback Tom Brady and potentially lack backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (although there are rumors about the Patriots trying to push him to play through injury). Can the Patriots hold out at home against this Texans team? Can Houston knock off the weakened Patriots this week? Here are some picks.
I think this game boils down to the uncertainty under center for the Patriots. Bill Belichick is a brilliant football mind, but the Patriots have too many issues at quarterback this week. Rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett will likely start his first career game against a dominant Texans defense that should give him fits. The Patriots will play a close game, but the Texans win this one on the road. Final score: Texans 24, Patriots 22. -- Mike B.
Texans 24, Patriots 17. --Jared M.
I have faith Brissett can do a good job in tonight's game. That doesnt mean they will win though because Will Fuller and Hopkins against the Pats corners should be the deal breaker for this game. I just think the defense mismatch and the WR's of Houston vs the CB's of the Pats is just too much and we will see the "Genius" get out geniused by Bill O' Brian. Texans win 31 - 25 over the Patriots. --- Matt Koontz.
Patriots 24, Texans 21--Joshua H.
Texans @ Patriots: This game is going to be a close one. The Patriots are struggling a QB, but tonight they get Gronk back. If Gronk can play like himself, he'll be a good target for Brissett to throw to. However, the Texans have a very dominant defense which will make the Patriots work very hard for their points. This game will be especially entertaining if Edelman plays as QB. I think the Patriots can come out on top on this one. My prediction: Patriots win, 24-20.
