Ladies and Gentlemen the return of the spider has arrived. After his broken leg in an ugly kick to the shin of Chris Weidman.
Anderson Silva vs Nick Diaz: Oh nick your trash talk and not going to open workouts to gain attention due to your arrogant ego is only going to be funny when the legend your standing opposite of knocks you out. Yes I am taking Silva without a doubt second round KO after making him look silly.
Tyron Woodley vs Kevin Gastelum: This fight is going to be truly incredible. Kevin Gastelum is undefeated and has beat some great fighters in Uriah Hall, Rick Story, and Jake Ellenburg. Tyron Woodley is an absolute monster and so strong for his weight class. This fight has the potential to be an all out brawl for 3 rounds. I am going to take the "underdog" in Woodley with a third round KO.
Joe Lauzon vs Al Iaquinta: This fight could be a standing fight or a complete wrestling match. Joe is a wrestling genius while Al is a more all around fighter. I'm not sure why but Joe is the "underdog" but I am going to pick him in this one. I'll take a second round Guillotine for the win for good ol' Joe.
Thales Leites vs Tim Boetsh: Anyone else excited for this fight? It could be a lot of fun for a pure mma fan. This could be a fight that will be on the ground for 12 minutes possibly. Leites has an incredible ground game and will take the match to it. I am taking Leites in a third round rear naked choke.
Jordan Mein vs Thiago Alves: Thiago Alves is the underdog?! Wow no disrespect to Mein he is a good fighter. Mein is a very skilled young fighter. I am going to expect this to be a true 15 minute fun all out war. I am going to take Mein in a split decision.
Miesha Tate vs Sara McMann: Miesha Tate is set to try and get rolling again focused on a potential rematch with Rousey. McMann suffered a rough loss to Rousey but is looking to set herself back on track as well and both women will be bringing their A game. Miesha could be a ton of fun to watch and I am going to take her in 2 round KO.
Ed Herman vs Derek Brunson: Talk about an interesting fight between different fight styles. I like Hermans heart and grit. He is also a great ground and pound fighter and good in the clinch. Brunson is a good fighter all around but he can fight standing better then Herman. This fight is tough to call but will go 15 minutes and Brunson will take the unanimous decision.
Ian McCall vs Jon Lineker: Why is this a middle of the prelim fight. McCall loves to fight at a face pace and once on the mat is lethal. Lineker is going to be able to outlast McCall stamina wise and is a good fighter with a lot of MMA intelligence. I know he weighed in 5 over so it might be an advantage but Lineker is who I'm taking in this one in a split decision.
Rafael Natal vs Tom Watson: Natal is a ground game fighter almost purely while Tom Watson is a strong standing fighter. Tom might be fighting for his UFC career he is 2-3 in the UFC entering this fight, doesn't want to fall to 2-4. I am going to sadly pick against him and take Natal to win this one.
Diego Brandao vs Jimy Hettes: Diego is an amazing fighter who has been slumping lately. Jimy Hettes is a great submission fighter. I love Brandao all around in MMA. I truly do not understand why he is in the undercard online prelims. I will take Brandao in the first round with a KO.
Welcome to Stockholm ladies and gentleman.
Alexander Gustafsson vs Anthony Rumble Johnson: This main event is a huge one for the light heavyweights. 2 of the top 3 in the division clashing all for a shot at Jon "coke" Jones. Gustafsson to me should have won against Jones the decision in my opinion of the judges was laughable. Rumble is probably the knockout artist of the UFC not just the light heavyweights. Gustafsson is the best opponent for Jones to be able to dethrone the "king". I am sticking with my gut and saying Gustafsson wins in 2 rounds with a TKO.
Dan Henderson vs Gegard Mousasi: this fight has two big middleweight names. I love Hendo and what he's done for the UFC but I'm starting to wonder is it time to pass the torch. This fight he might be just doing so. Mousasi is a beast in the middleweight division and is ready for a brawl. I am going to pick Mousasi in a unanimous decision after three grueling rounds.
Phil Mr. Wonderful Davis vs. Ryan "Darth" Bader: This fight is a fight I've been thinking about since it got announced. Mr. Wonderful needs to continue his climb again because I truly think he is the best fighter in the 205 weight class just lost his way lately. Meanwhile Bader is always a threat to win any fight he is a gritty strong jawed opponent with a great all around game. I like Bader a lot as a fighter and a person. I have to say though I'm picking the Wonderful one in a third round submission in a fight we will all remember.
Akira Corassani vs Sam Sicilia: This is a pretty low key entrance to the Main Card but it is what it is. Akira is 12-5 with 7 of his fights going to decision which is no good because nobody likes the judges. Sam Sicilia is 13-5 and 11 of his wins are finishes 7 by knockout 4 by submission. This fight has the potential to be exciting regardless of the smaller names. I am going to stick with the finisher and take a first round knock out from Sicilia.
Dana White has gifted us an amazing free fight. This fight card is STACKED.
Connor McGregor vs Denis Siver: McGregor has quickly become one of my favorite fighters to ever enter the Octagon. He is a freak with almost perfect all around abilities. He might talk trash but he backs it all up entirely. Siver is a good fighter nothing against him but McGregor is better then anyone in his weight class. McGregor said he will knock out Siver in 2 minutes, does anyone belive him? I do, I am taking McGregor first round 1 minute 38 seconds in McGregor will knock out Denis Siver.
Donald Cerrone vs Benson Henderson III: This fight is going to be intense. Cerrone last year was 4 for 4 in wins per fight. He is a monster and quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with. Truly in order for that weight class should be ranked Pettis, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Donald Cerrone, Rafael Dos Anjos, Gilbert Melendez, then Benson Henderson. Benson is a good solid fighter but his biggest knock to me is that he's to conservative. Cerrone is fighting for the second time in January of 2015 on 2 weeks rest and that is the only reason Henderson might keep it close. Cerrone is the truly more gifted fighter and I believe he will win in the third round with a guillotine submission.
Uriah Hall vs Ron Stallings: Thank you Ron for taking this fight after two injuries you are the third fighter slated to fight Uriah. It's bad news for you though because Uriah is looking hot and ready to continue rolling. Hall is a machine and now looks confident again. Hall will send Stallings home with a late first round KO.
Norman Parke vs Gleison Tibau: This is a true MMA fans fight. These two are so close in talent and will have a shot at fight of the night. Norman Parke is an all-around fighter but is a specialist on the ground. Gleison Tibau is a ground fighting genius with an OK stand game. If Parke gets this thing to the mat expect his ground and pound to dominate Tibau. But if Tibau gets on top this fight could be over quick. I am going to take the underdog Parke to win with a 2nd round rear naked choke.
Jon Bones Jones has failed a drug test he took pre fight. He tested positive for traces of cocaine. He immediately checked himself in to a rehab. The UFC should strip him of his belt and suspend him. They need to show the other fighters that there will be consequences for something like this. Dana White it's your turn to do something don't be like Roger Goodell.
