Thanksgiving got 3 games out of the way, and they were big ones. Lance Briggs' season (and potentially his career as a Chicago Bear) is over due to a groin injury. Calvin Johnson is back in form. Mark Sanchez looks like a pretty good quarterback! Here's how I see things panning out for the rest of this week's games:
Tennessee @ Houston. The Jeff Garcia Journeyman QB Bowl! Tennessee and Houston both have major problems at the QB position, with Zach Mettenberger trying to win a starting role for himself permanently and Ryan Mallet out for the season. That being said, Houston has the better all-around team, and is playing at home. Final score: Houston 21, Tennessee 17.
Carolina @ Minnesota. This game is very difficult to call. Both teams have no #1 running back, uncertainty at the QB position, and bad records. The Vikings have Ben Tate though, and maybe Ben Tate will score a TD to push them over the edge. Final score, Minnesota 24, Carolina 21 in overtime.
San Diego @ Baltimore. San Diego is slowing down a bit after a very strong start. Baltimore needs this game badly to stay close in an extremely competitive AFC North. Baltimore wins. Final score Baltimore 27, San Diego 24.
Oakland @ St. Louis. I picked the Raiders the last time they won a game, and the Rams are a team with problems. I'm going with my gut on this one and picking the Raiders to put together a 2 game win streak! Final score Oakland 28, St. Louis 17.
Washington @ Indianapolis. Andrew Luck will play this week, and so will Colt McCoy. Luck will once again put up solid numbers, but Colt McCoy will establish his role as the Colts' Daddy as RGIII watches from the bench. Final score Washington 35, Indianapolis 31.
New York Giants @ Jacksonville. Eli Manning is a mistake prone QB that plays like a rookie at times. Blake Bortles is a rookie. The Giants visit Jacksonville this week and LOSE to the Jaguars. Both teams are sloppy and this game could go either way, but Bortles will get it done as Eli looks like a turnover machine yet again. Final score: Jacksonville 35, Giants 28.
New Orleans @ Pittsburgh. The Steelers are playing well lately, and this game is at home. I pick the Steelers to win and the AFC North to stay tight for yet another week. Final sore: Steelers 28, Saints 27. Tomlin trips a ref.
Buffalo @ Cleveland. Cleveland is a playoff team! With the addition of Josh Gordon to this offense this team is going to dominate and find themselves in the postseason. I'm guaranteeing a Browns playoff spot right here. On their way to the playoffs, the Browns beat the Bills. Final score: Cleveland 24, Buffalo 21.
Cincinnati @ Tampa Bay. Boring game, and unless Marvin Lewis goes full Marvin, Cincinnati dominates. This game isn't in prime time, so final score Cincinnati 42, Tampa Bay 14.
Arizona @ Atlanta. The Cardinals could win with Eric Crouch at QB this season! The Cardinals continue to roll on their way to the playoffs. Final score Cardinals 24, Falcons 17.
New England @ Green Bay. The game of the season, and potentially a Superbowl preview. This game is going to be outstanding to watch, as Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers have a lot of things in common. They've dated supermodels, they really, really like girls, they've got rings, and they both wear the number 12! This is going to be a high scoring game but the Packers are the better team. Final score Packers 56, Patriots 47.
Denver @ Kansas City. This is a divisional game that is going to be really close. That being said, the Chiefs are going to struggle against the Broncos and be unable to put this game away. FInal score Denver 27, KC 24.
Miami @ New York Jets. The Dolphins always find strange and wonderous ways to knock themselves out of playoff contention. This season is no different. They continue this historical trend by losing to the Jets. Geno Smith has a big game and makes Rex Ryan look like a fool for benching him. Final score Jets 21, Miami 10.
