Power Rankings week 8 NFL 2016:
.(2). New England Patriots (6-1): The Patriots are without a doubt the best team in the league they have a bit of everything. They have an aggressive and young defense with a top-level offense. Watch out for the Patriots as they are Super Bowl quality and all the hate will come back out.
.(3). Dallas Cowboys (5-1): The Cowboys are only going to remain atop the NFC if they keep the chemistry where it is and let Dak remain the starter. I think their defense has impressed us all year thus far and I think they might struggle to find the same luck as the year goes on.
.(1). Minnesota Vikings (5-1): The Vikings took an ugly loss in Philly last week and it makes me wonder if someone has figured out this offense. If you can stop the offense of the Vikings you will wear out their defense and pick up the wins.
.(10). Denver Broncos (5-2): The Broncos looked good on Monday night all around. They managed to look like a top 5 team again, granted it was at home and against a pretty terrible QB so I might be a little worried with them moving forward against top teams.
.(9). Green Bay Packers (4-2): The Packers want to go to the Super Bowl they should step up and change the world of the NFL and use a spread offense. I loved watching Ty Montgomery out of the backfield and the quick check down throws to replace the RB. That game was fun to watch and the Packers offense could become explosive and unstoppable using Cobb and TY in those roles.
.(4). Seattle Seahawks (4-1-1): If the Seahawks want to return to the Super Bowl they need to figure out an offense right now or they will fall behind fast. Their defense is on a tear but the game against Arizona proved that their offense can’t carry them at all.
.(13). Philadelphia Eagles (4-2): The Eagles bounced back by playing defense last week and beat
the only undefeated team left in the NFL. The Eagles offense still needs to get firing on all cylinders.
.(8). Kansas City Chiefs (4-2): The Chiefs are firing on all cylinders offensively and defensively. The team has to hope Jamaal Charles can one day return to his former self but Spencer Ware is going off right now and helping them not feel the loss of Charles.
.(7). Arizona Cardinals (3-3-1): The Cardinals offense even with David Johnson couldn’t find an end zone at home this weekend. They will need to find out how to play top level teams if they want to go anywhere in this league.
.(5). Atlanta Falcons (4-3): The Falcons are an offensive firepower and their defense is still learning but they are getting pressure on opposing QB’s. They just need to find a way to help their offense a little bit and keep the lead their offense builds.
.(15). Oakland Raiders (5-2): The Raiders this weekend looked like the team that could win the division. This team’s offense needs to keep rolling and just hope their defense catches up soon.
.(17). San Diego Chargers (3-4): Call me crazy but these guys are legit. Look all of their loses could have been avoided in the last 2 minutes of the game. I believe that they are a top team and if Melvin keeps producing touchdowns the Chargers will be okay and could sneak into a wildcard spot.
.(6). Buffalo Bills (4-3): The Bills should have never lost to the Dolphins and I must once against question Rex Ryan and ask how that was possible. They are supposed to be built around defense and Jay Ajayi made them look atrocious. The Bills better wake up because they get the Pats next.
.(12). Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3): The Steelers must hope Ben comes back soon after their bye week or the Bengals could capitalize and take over the division. Injuries are killing a team that could be a top 5 team.
.(16). Detroit Lions (4-3): The Lions are rolling and they could find themselves right in the middle of this division battle with the Packers and Vikings if they can keep picking up the wins they should get. They look good right now.
.(21). Cincinnati Bengals (3-4): The Bengals got a win but they beat a winless team and just need to take it as a momentum boost. This week they play their former offensive coordinator.
.(11). Washington Redskins (4-3): The Redskins I really thought were going to go into Detroit and win but they lost and will need to pick it up in London this week. The Skins will need more out of their defense if they want to be able to try and compete with the top dogs.
.(18). New York Giants (4-3): The Giants offense needs to get clicking as Steve Spagnuolo and his defense are doing everything they can to keep them in games as we saw against the Rams last weekend. They will have a bye week to get their team chemistry back.
.(25). Miami Dolphins (3-4): The Dolphins have knocked off the Steelers and the Bills in back to back weeks. They are making people take a step back and say what if the Dolphins could keep their momentum.
.(27). Indianapolis Colts (3-4): The Colts are getting Phillip Dorsett back and their offense is starting to pick up momentum along with health. Now they just need their makeshift offensive line and their defense to come along before they can become contenders.
.(14). Houston Texans (4-3): BROCK OSWEILER is a bottom 3 QB in the league and is getting paid 72 Mil. Talk about robbing a franchise of money. What a joke, the Texans could be elite if they could get a real QB not a pretender. I say give Tom Savage a shot at this point.
.(26). Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-3): The Bucs are still in need of less turnovers but a win against one of the worst teams in the league was a big help last week. They still need a lot of help but I think if Mike Evans can stay healthy the Buccaneers might be able to run at this division just because Atlanta is the only team in this division with a winning record, but only one game ahead.
.(24). New Orleans Saints (2-4): The Saints are an offensive team with no defense and they need to step up and get Brees some help. The Saints are a team that could take on top defenses and go toe to toe.
.(32). New York Jets (2-5): The Jets picked up a surprising win last week and Fitz is back to being their QB so they are going to be in trouble but their defense and ground game looked solid again so maybe it can carry them forward.
.(19). Baltimore Ravens (3-4): The Ravens will enter their bye-week this week as arguably the least healthy team in the league. The Ravens are used to that though and I believe it is time to get a new training staff. They also need to ask if it is time to get Harbaugh and Newsome out of Baltimore. Harbaugh seems to lack what it takes to get his team fired up and Newsome seems to be lacking to bring in top level talent.
.(20). Tennessee Titans (3-4): The Titans are still only two games behind the division lead and they have young talent and a stud at RB. The Titans are struggling to find consistencies but all young teams do that and we shall see where they go.
.(22). Jacksonville Jaguars (2-4): Jacksonville is just like Tennessee a team struggling with youth and consistencies. I have to wonder if they will bounce back soon or will they fail at getting momentum.
.(23). LA Rams (3-4): The Rams are falling apart at the seams and Gurley needs to get rolling if they want to bounce back. The only issue is that Case Keenum is probably the 2nd worst if not the worst starting QB in the NFL right now and that means defenses can stack the box against Gurley. Get rid of Case and the Rams will bounce back.
.(29). Carolina Panthers (1-5): The Panthers defense is absolutely horrible, they can slow down a run but their pass defense can’t stop a pee-wee league offense. The Panthers have a good offense but they can’t keep pace with how many points their defense gives up.
.(28) Chicago Bears (1-6): The Bears are now back to Cutler and that is a downgrade from Hoyer and we shall see what happens with the chemistry after having Hoyer the past 4 weeks. I think this will be interesting to see if Cutler can ever return to a top 15 QB.
.(31). Cleveland Browns (0-7): The Browns battle for games and then just disappear. I think they can get a few wins this season they just need to stop talking about trading Joe Thomas and they need Kessler to stay healthy and remain their starter.
.(30). San Francisco 49ers (1-6): The Niners are a terrible team and they have the worst QB in the league. They need to bench Kaepernick and let a 4 year old start in the stands he might be able to throw the ball better. The Niners should just admit they are battling the Browns for number 1 overall draft pick.
