That being said, this week on Thursday Night Football, the San Diego Chargers travel to Oakland to take on the Raiders. The Chargers are 4-10, and have missed the playoffs 5 out of the last 6 seasons. The Raiders haven't made the postseason in 13 years. Both of these teams could potentially leave for Los Angeles. The Chargers are struggling heavily with injuries, and have lost Melvin Gordon for the season. The Raiders are building a young roster that looks good for the future. This is going to be a fun game to watch, but also a game with more implications for the 2016 draft than for this season. Will the Raiders find victory at home on Christmas Eve? Can Philip Rivers lead the Chargers to victory? Here are some picks.
San Diego Chargers @ Oakland Raiders. This is a tough game to judge, but Oakland is just healthier than the Chargers. The Raiders also have more weapons with an established run game and potential offensive rookie of the year Amari Cooper. While the Chargers do have Antonio Gates and Philip Rivers, that may not be enough to get them over the hump this week. Raiders win. Final score: Oakland Raiders 24, San Diego Chargers 21. --Mike B. (134-91)
Chargers (4-10) @ Raiders (6-8): This game is not a Christmas present from the NFL. This is a bitter rivalry but this game regardless of how the Chargers played last week, should be one sided. The Raiders are a good team nearing the talent to become a true contender, while the Chargers are beat up and look confused as can be on offense with a terrible defense. I am not sure how the rivalry will effect this game but I am going to take the Raiders to win this one. Raiders win 30 – 24 over the Chargers.
