It's been a long season, but 14 games into the regular season, the Vikings and Cardinals both have an extremely good chance at making the playoffs. The Cardinals look like favorites to secure a first round bye, and the Vikings are in contention to win the NFC North, or at least a wildcard spot. Most casual fans would have scoffed had you told them that these two teams would both be in contention this late in the season. However, these are two good franchises with bright futures. Both teams are riding on the health of an experienced player on offense; for Arizona, it's quarterback Carson Palmer, for Minnesota, it's Adrian Peterson. Who will prevail in Arizona on Thursday night? Here are some picks.
Minnesota Vikings @ Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals are coming off of a dominant win in week 13; the Vikings struggled against a Seahawks team firing on all cylinders. Both of these teams have extremely strong defenses. However, Arizona has more weapons on offense, and I think that makes the difference this week. Cardinals win. Final score: Arizona Cardinals 24, Minnesota Vikings 13. --Mike B. (114-79)
Minnesota Vikings @ Arizona Cardinals: The Cardinals are honestly the best team in the NFC besides the Panthers. This game in Arizona makes this a easy pick for me just based off what the Vikings did last week. The Vikings are a team that are doing what their rival Packers seem to be doing, by that i mean losing and winning at random with no real showing of consistency. The Cardinals should walk away from this with a win. Cardinals win 32 - 24 over the Vikings.
- Matt Koontz (118-75)
Minnesota Vikings @ Arizona Cardinals: Carson Palmer is looking 20 years younger this year, and it is no secret he is a big reason for Arizona's success. With a rookie at running back, they are still causing havoc for opposing defenses. The Vikings are being too inconsistent with their game plan and putting too much pressure on Bridgewater to win games, rather than lean on their workhorse. I believe if Minnesota can control the game and give AP 25+ carries, they have a chance for an upset. However, I don't see that happening. Cardinals 28 - Vikings 21
- Jared McManus (94-85)
