The Vikings visit Lambeau Field tonight to battle the Green Bay Packers for the top spot in the NFC North. The winner of tonight's matchup inherits a half game division lead five weeks into the season, pending Sunday's results. This is an important divisional matchup with important implications. Let's set the stage.
Minnesota Vikings. The Minnesota Vikings are coming off of a strong game against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons are as up-and-down as any team in the NFL, but they have shown that they can dominate an opponent this season when firing on all cylinders. Teddy Bridgewater looked phenomenal, and McKinnon had an outstanding game. Hint for fantasy players: the Packers run defense is terrible this season. Start McKinnon or Asiata if you have them. A word of warning, however. Not all is well in coach Mike Zimmer's world. Teddy Bridgewater is nursing a sprained ankle this week, and may not play (even if the Packers are preparing for him).
Green Bay Packers. The Green Bay Packers finally found their passing game. Rodgers remembered how to throw the football against a Chicago Bears defense on the decline, and the Packers dominated the Bears in Chicago. Are the Bears who we thought they were? They are if you thought they were going to be an average team this year. But I digress. Aaron Rodgers has arrived, the Packers passing game is firing on all cylinders, and this open up running lanes for Eddie Lacy by spreading out the defense. I still believe in Lacy, and think he will break out once the Packers passing game starts showing some consistency. Buy low on him if you can.
Prediction: The Vikings are an average team having a decent season so far. They're doing far more than one might expect without Adrian Peterson, but their best won't be enough to beat the Packers at home in Lambeau. Final prediction: Packers 48, Vikings 37. ---Mike B
Bridgewater has arrived that's exciting alone but packers looked awake offensively finally granted it was the bear defense. but I got the Packers rolling again in a close fun game to watch. Packers 39 Vikings 31. Randall Cobb owners be excited.
