Week 15 in the NFL is here: Two weeks left and last week my fantasy forecast among my picks really was a big hit so they are going to be back for this and next week and all year next year. There is a game this Saturday night so don’t miss out as it boasts a playoff eligible team in the Dolphins. The teams Currently in the playoffs entering week 15 are as follows. AFC, 1 seed Patriots, 2 seed Chiefs, 3 seed Steelers, and 4 seed Texans. The wildcard teams are currently the Raiders and the Broncos. The Dolphins are tied with the Broncos and need a Broncos loss due to a tie breaker, the Ravens and Titans are 1 game back of the wildcard. The Titans are tied with their division lead and lack the tie breaker so they are on the brink in 2 different scenarios. The NFC playoff picture is as follows. 1 seed Cowboys, 2 seed Lions, 3 seed Seahawks, 4 seed Falcons. The wildcard teams are currently the Giants and Buccaneers with the Skins Packers and Vikings one game behind. The Buccaneers are tied with the Falcons but the Falcons own the tie-breaker and the Buccaneers need to control their own fate if they want to remain in the playoffs. Anyway here we go with the Saturday night game.
Saturday Night (8:25 PM/ET):
Dolphins @ Jets: Well the Jets pulled off a comeback because the 49ers suck and couldn’t handle the Jets lack of an offense even. The Jets will find themselves a decent team here that is fighting for their playoff lives. The Dolphins semi-impressed me last week with their win over the Cardinals and they should use that as a build-up of momentum. Now if you must start someone on the Jets I would wait and see the status on Forte because if Forte doesn’t suit up then you should give Powell a start. Either way go with the Jets starting RB. The do not start for the Jets should be Brandon Marshall as their offense might struggle with the pass against the 10th ranked pass defense in the league. The Dolphins player to start is DeVante Parker against the Jets 22nd ranked pass defense. If I had to be wary to start anyone for the Dolphins this game it would be Kenny Stills but I could be wrong depending how Matt Moore does. The sneaky pick to start in this game would be Robbie Anderson of the Jets if you’re in a deep hole due to injuries.
Sunday 1 PM/ET:
Packers @ Bears: Hello NFC North rivalry and the oldest rivalry in the NFL. As of now on Tuesday they are calling for -3 degrees with slight wind for Sundays game in Chicago. If Matt Barkley and company don’t watch the film on this now healthy Packers secondary they are going to struggle just like everyone else has lately. The Packers have one of the most incredible offenses in the league and if they use TY Montgomery as their RB they will continue to dominate the NFL defenses. The Bears in my eyes should have wrapped up the win last week against Detroit but with one bad call to ruin a big play late and then one call on the very next play just was too much for Matt Barkley. I think this game will come down to the Packers ability to stop Jordan Howard. My player to start for the visiting Packers would have to be Jordy Nelson, Rodgers, and Devante Adams. My do not start for this game for the Packers would be Richard Rodgers. The Bears must start should be Jordan Howard and Alshon Jeffery who is back from suspension. The don’t start for the Bears is Cameron Merideth. My sneaky pick if you find yourself in need of help I would consider Ty Montgomery. Packers win 30 – 21 over the Bears.
Jaguars @ Texans: Defense will dominate this game as we have the 5th ranked and 6th ranked defenses squaring off in this one. Blake Bortles and Brock Osweiller square off in the two most disappointing QB’s of 2016. The Jaguars defense has been playing so well but their offense turns the ball over constantly and leaves them in bad field position situations right of the bat. The Texans defense gets no help from it’s offense because their offense can’t move the ball at all and the QB is entirely to blame and I believe if they lose this game they should bring Tom Savage in at QB for next week because he is truly a Savage and could be the better option as is. The Jaguars player to start in fantasy should be possibly their D/ST because there isn’t much else on that team that has a shot of having a big game. The Jaguars player to not start is Blake Bortles. The Texans player in fantasy to start would be Lamar Miller because the Jaguars run defense is a bit weak. The player once again I wouldn’t start for the Texans would be Brock. The sneaky player to watch in this one has to be Allen Robinson because that kid can ball against any defense if Bortles can just get him the ball. Texans win 14 – 10 over the Jaguars.
Browns @ Bills: Here we go the week after Rex should have been fired episode 15. The Bills need to be realistic and get rid of Rex and bring in an offensive minded head coach so they can take the leash off Tyrod Taylor. The Browns on the other hand have nothing going on at all for them and RGIII didn’t make a single difference for them. I still personally think Cody Kessler is the better option at QB and they should just let him grow into this team, he is their best chance at a W if they want one this season. Now my start player for the Browns is Terrell Pryor because I truly don’t believe he will have another down week after the previous one and should bounce back well for fantasy owners. The sit player for the Browns is both Duke Johnson and Isiah Crowell. The Bills player to start is LeSean McCoy and their player to make sure you bench is Robert Woods. The deep player to give a shot to could be two players, those two being Tyrod Taylor and Mike Gillislee. I really want to say the Browns finally get a win but I don’t see the Bills getting in their own way that much. Bills win 24 – 14 over the Browns.
Eagles @ Ravens: The Eagles are collapsing and their season is becoming a nightmare. The Eagles honestly might have quickly found themselves as of late to be one of the worst teams in the league. The Ravens are coming off a tough loss to the Patriots in Foxboro in a game where they looked horrible. The only reason that team really found themselves making a run back into it was 2 special teams mishaps for the Patriots. The Ravens are in my eyes still the best team in the AFC North because their defense is elite, every team has a bad week is my take on their defense going MIA on Monday night. The Eagles player to start in this game should be Zach Ertz as he is their best option for Wentz to throw to. While their player to sit should be Jordan Matthews again. If you have Baltimore Ravens players and your trying to figure out who to start or sit I would say start Steve Smith and I would sit Terrance West or Kenneth Dixon this game. The sneaky good pick to start in this one I would have to say is Breshard Perriman as he could have a break out game this weekend. Ravens win 31 – 18 over the Eagles.
Titans @ Chiefs: Oh man the Titans need to keep winning if they want to have a shot at the playoffs but they have to face the Chiefs which is so hard. The Chiefs are coming off another win in which they claimed the 2 seed and beat the Raiders while doing so. This game will be in 11 degree weather as of now according to the forecast and that might effect Derrick Carr, oh wait he isn’t in this game and the two QB’s in this game can handle the cold, okay my fault. The Titans need to feast on the Chiefs 27th ranked rushing defense if they want to win this game. The Titans player to start is absolutely Demarco Murray and their player to sit this week is Marcus Mariota as this week will be a tough one for their offense. The Chiefs player to start in fantasy would be Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce. If you’re a Chiefs RB fantasy owner I would suggest starting none of their running backs. The sneaky pick for this game is Delanie Walker because he has a lot of talent and can be something special. Titans pull off the upset 20 – 17 over the Chiefs.
Lions @ Giants: The Lions keep getting lucky and they aren’t going to be able to be lucky this week. I seriously can’t stand all this hype on the Lions, yes, they are picking up wins but they are doing it late and with come from behinds on some pretty bad offenses. Their next three games are the Giants in NY, the Cowboys in DAL, and then Green Bay, lucky wins won’t work this time. The Giants proved what I have said all along a team with a stingy defense who isn’t statistically good could stop the Cowboys. The Giants defense is a very tough defense with a lot of fire in them. Their offense still can’t get firing like you would think with their three WRS and Eli Manning but they better hope that is found soon. Anyway, my fantasy start’em and sit’ems. The Lions start player needs to be Anquan Boldin and their player to sit is Golden Tate as I assume Janoris Jenkins will be against him. If your sitting there with any of the Giants top 3 WRs I would have to say the player to start is Sterling Shepard while their player to sit is Victor Cruz. Now I would say there isn’t much of a sneaky fantasy start here but I think that Ebron actually could be a good start here if your desperate at tight end. Giants win 21 – 17 over the Lions.
Colts @ Vikings: The Colts are a bad team with a mediocre offense. There isn’t much of an offense when you only have a QB who isn’t in the top 10 in passing yards and only one good WR in T.Y. Hilton. They have no ground game at all and absolutely no defense. The Vikings have a great defense but their offense is absolutely horrible and if their defense doesn’t keep them in games they can’t rely any type of offense to keep them in this game. The Colts player to start in this game is T.Y. Hilton because he is bound to break free and get one big play and help his offense find some type of life. The player for the Colts to sit is as always Frank Gore. The Vikings fantasy players to start has to be Stefon Diggs because the Colts terrible defense should provide him a good game. The Vikings player to avoid starting is Matt Asiata. If you are looking for a deep player at WR to start in this one, it should be Adam Thielen. Vikings win 27 – 24 over the Colts.
Steelers @ Bengals: Let the fireworks fly!!!! This game is going to be a shoving match with personal foul penalties being thrown left and right. Burfict probably will get ejected from this game and we could see some other ugly altercations throughout this game. The Steelers have proven that with Le’Veon Bell anything is possible. The Bengals need to just play a defensive game and hope that AJ comes back this week because he could make a difference with Eifert and Dalton. This game is always a defensive showdown so it seems. I am really interested by this one for sure. The Steelers start’em player has to be Le’Veon Bell after last week’s game it’s hard to think he won’t have another big one. The player to be wary of is Antonio Brown as I think that they will find ways to shut him down. The Bengals player to start has to be Tyler Eifert especially if AJ Green comes back and their player to sit is Dalton has he normally doesn’t handle the Steelers well. Sneaky fantasy player of the game for this one has to be Randy Bullock kicking the ball for the Bengals if you are in a bad kicking situation like myself. Steelers win 17 – 16 over the Bengals.
Saints @ Cardinals: The battle between two eliminated teams should be a good showdown because both QBs have been struggling the past two weeks in Brees’ case and all season for Palmer. The Cardinals defense could be a serious matchup issue for the Saints. The Cardinals offense is pretty rough for some reason considering they have my MVP of the league in David Johnson. The Saints defense has been just plain awful and David Johnson and Fitz might be too much for the Saints defense to handle. The Saints must start this game has to be Willie Snead if Michael Thomas doesn’t play otherwise Michael Thomas is the way to go. The players to sit for the Saints are Ingram and Hightower. My Cardinals must start is obviously David Johnson but I think Larry Fitzgerald could have a good game as well. Now the player not to start for the Cardinals would be Carson Palmer because I feel another pick and fumble coming this one too. The sneaky pick in this one is once again for me the same player as last week in the Cardinals game, JJ Nelson should be bound to have a big game. Cardinals win behind David Johnson 30 – 27 over the Saints.
49ers @ Falcons: Look the 49ers are a terrible team and they are looking at their 13th straight loss. The Falcons are coming off a good defensive game and offensive showdown as we all expect from them. This game will be funny for me. 49ers player to start is Carlos Hyde and their player to sit is everyone else on their roster. The Falcons player to start that is a must and they are both Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman. The Falcons player to sit is honestly nobody because they should blow out the 49ers. The sneaky pick for this game if its considered a sneaky pick at this point should be Taylor Gabriel. Falcons win 38 – 3 over the 49ers.
Patriots @ Broncos: The Patriots proved they are a dominant power house even without Gronk as lost as their special teams can stay out of their own way. The Broncos have no offense and their defense can’t do anything else but stop the pass now so they are to me just not as good of a team as everyone thought they would be. They have no ground game and they have no QB. This game shouldn’t be much of a test for the Patriots but hey we will see with the cold Denver weather and the no fly zone against Brady. The Patriots players to start for me is Blount he is a monster and the Denver defense has been bad against the run all year. The player to sit for me is Martellus Bennett. Now for the Broncos if you have someone on their team your looking to start I would chose Emanuel Sanders and I would sit any RB they have. The dark horses in this game that could be a sneaky pick are two players and they are James White and Mitchell both for the Patriots too. Patriots win 24 – 13 over the Broncos.
Raiders @ Chargers: The Raiders need to worry when it comes around playoff time because Carr proved once again he can’t play in cold weather games and week 17 is in Denver for them in a game that could decide their playoff fate. The Chargers should have won once again last week they have been the most frustrating team for me to watch this season and now possibly won’t have Melvin this week, they most likely will not. Now the fantasy must start for the Raiders is Carr for me because the Chargers pass defense outside of Hayward is pretty inconsistent. The must sit player for the Raiders is probably Cooper honestly because Casey Hayward should be on him and he is basically a no-fly zone himself. Now the Chargers player to start is Rivers and Tyrell Williams because of the Raiders defense. The sit player for the Chargers is Travis Benjamin to me he hasn’t seemed the same for the past few weeks. Now if you want to take a deep sleeper in this game is Kenneth Farrow or even deeper Ronnie Hillman. This game will be interesting. Chargers win 31 – 29 over the Raiders. I have picked these Chargers all year I will continue that till the end at this point.
SNF (8:30 PM/ET):
Buccaneers @ Cowboys: LOOK EVERYONE THE FOURTH PRIMETIME COWBOYS GAME IN A ROW!!! THIS IS BULLCRAP!!!!! The Cowboys proved last week they can’t handle the tough tests on the road from stingy defenses and now in front of their fans they have to prove they can handle a stingy defense at least at home. I think the Buccaneers are this year’s surprise team and it’s a great surprise for football fans to see them back. Buccaneers must start is Mike Evans and Winston both. The player to sit for them is Doug Martin and Charles Simms. The player for the Cowboys to start this week is Zeke Elliott while the player to sit for them is Dez as he should be shadowed well here. This game’s sneaky pick to start is Cameron Brate as he is a good TE option going into this game. The Buccaneers are playing for their lives and I personally think their QB situation is better and I am going with the upset. Buccaneers win 27 – 25 over the Cowboys.
MNF (8:30 PM/ET):
Panthers @ Redskins: Offensive showdown between two offenses that can air the ball out. Both teams have a sneaky good run game too that most people forget to mention when they look at both teams. The difference in this game is the Redskins have something to play for and the Panthers are just trying to play spoiler at this point. This game will be a true test for the Redskins though as the Panthers have looked good as of late and could ruin the Skins hopes on Monday night. The player to start for the Panthers is Kelvin Benjamin because he’s covered by overrated Josh Norman. The player to sit for the Panthers is honestly nobody the Skins defense can’t stop the pass or the run I would feel safe with all 3 of the Panthers top WRs and Jonathan Stewart. The Redskins player to start for me is Crowder as he should have a big game against the Panthers weak secondary. The Redskins player fantasy owners need to sit is Matt Jones because that Carolina defense can stop the run. Sleeper pick of this game is Jordan Reed as he could have a big impact after a quiet week last week. Redskins find a way to win 23 – 21 over the Panthers. ---- Matt Koontz (118-88)
Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets. I think that the Dolphins are the superior team in this matchup, but I also think this will be a sloppy close game in the New Jersey winter. If the Jets had some stability, they'd be my pick for this game. However, they still are struggling to find an identity, so I have to go with the Dolphins, in a surprisingly close one. Final score: Miami Dolphins 21, New York Jets 17.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals. Remember the old days when the Cincinnati Bungles used to beat the Steelers late in the season and mess with their playoff seeding after Cincinnati was eliminated from the playoffs? This is feeling like one of those matchups. I don't trust Cincinnati right now, but with a new kicker who might be able to make extra points, they could stand a chance. Fun fact. The last two times Le'Veon Bell has faced the Bengals, he's wound up injured. Something to keep in mind if you're riding him towards a title. Grab DeAngelo Williams to handcuff just in case. This will be a close game, and there will be at least one fight, probably more. That being said, I'm leaning towards Cincinnati in the matchup that should have been on Saturday night. After all, who doesn't love Saturday night fights? Bengals win. Final score: Cincinnati Bengals 24, Pittsburgh Steelers 21.
Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears. The Bears are who we thought they were....and that's a pretty bad team. The Packers like to play in winter, and Sunday's game will be frigid. Rodgers and company roll in the freezing cold as the Packers win. Final score: Green Bay Packers 35, Chicago Bears 14.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Houston Texans. I can't trust the Jaguars not to drop a freshly baked turnover right now. Lots of talent, but the team is not getting it done. The Texans are doing a better job of getting it done, and will win this one at home. Final score: Houston Texans 27, Jacksonville Jaguars 21.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Baltimore Ravens. One of the best defenses in the NFL against the team on which there was no WRs? I've gotta go with the Baltimore defense in this one. Ravens win. Final score: Baltimore Ravens 27, Philadelphia Eagles 16.
Tennessee Titans @ Kansas City Chiefs. This week, the Titans travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs. At the beginning of the year, nobody would have given Tennessee a chance to win this game, but Mariota looks brilliant with average-at-best wrs. I think the Titans have a shot in this one. Final score: Tennessee Titans 17, Kansas City Chiefs 14.
Indianapolis Colts @ Minnesota Vikings. The disappointment bowl! Both of these teams had extremely high hopes heading onto the year, but both have crashed and burned at various points throughout the season. That being said, the Vikings are a better team than the Colts, and I think they will squeak out a close one at home. Final score: Minnesota Vikings 21, Indianapolis Colts 20.
Cleveland Browns @ Buffalo Bills. Will the Browns win a game this season? If they do, will it get Rex Ryan fired? The world may know the answer to that question after Sunday's game. That being said, I think Buffalo has enough weapons to at least win this game, as the Browns losing streak continues. Final score: Buffalo Bills 27, Cleveland Browns 24.
Detroit Lions @ New York Giants. This should be a great matchup. Both of these teams have a legitimate chance to win this game, and it's a tough one for me to call. That being said, I'm giving the Giants a slight edge at home. Final score: New York Giants 24, Detroit Lions 20.
New Orleans Saints @ Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals, at home, in the midst of a playoff push? I've gotta give a slight edge to Arizona in this game. Cardinals win. Final score: Arizona Cardinals 28, New Orleans Saints 27.
San Francisco 49ers @ Atlanta Falcons. I have to pick the Falcons in this matchup because A ) it's obvious, and B ) this game is part of this week's schedule. On to Patriots-Broncos. Final score: Atlanta Falcons 56, San Francisco 49ers 6.
New England Patriots @ Denver Broncos. The Patriots are the best team in the AFC and look even better after adding Michael Floyd. Patriots should have the edge in this game. Final score: New England Patriots 35, Denver Broncos 21.
Oakland Raiders @ San Diego Chargers. The Chargers are decimated by injuries right now, and the Raiders are still one of the best teams in the NFL. That sounds like a good recipe for a win for Oakland to me. Raiders win. Final score: Oakland Raiders 24, San Diego Chargers 17.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Dallas Cowboys. The Dak Prescott experiment is crashing back down to Earth. He'll have a good game at home in Dallas, but his cold weather struggles suggest that he may not be a franchise quarterback. The Buccaneers are firing on all cylinders right now, and they could knock off the Cowboys in this game. Final score: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27, Dallas Cowboys 24.
Carolina Panthers @ Washington Redskins. This matchup is a tasty one, with Josh Norman hosting his former team in Washington. The Panthers are struggling right now after losing way too many pieces following last year's Super Bowl loss. The Redskins are playing consistently decent football. Redskins win this one at home. Final score: Washington Redskins 27, Carolina Panthers 21.
