Playoffs?!?! Don't talk about playoffs!! Playoffs? Playoffs?! Playoffs? We've got one more week of regular season games before the playoffs. You can't do diddly poo if you can't get into the playoffs! This week is shaping up to be an extremely exciting final week of the regular season. The Bucs are in first place for the first pick, but they have to lose (or have other teams win) to make it happen. There are still a couple of playoff spots open as well, and multiple divisions are yet to be decided. This will be a fun week! Are you ready for some football? I am! Here are the picks.
Dallas @ Washington. The Cowboys are in the playoffs for the first time in years and the Redskins are playing for a draft pick. That being said, Washington would love to deal a loss to a hated divisional rival to end the season, and Dallas may rest some guys to keep them healthy. Final score, Washington Shapeshifters 24, Dallas Cowboys 21.
San Diego @ Kansas City. The Chargers are 1-0 against Chase Daniels. This game showcases two teams reeling with injury issues. That being said, the Chargers are slightly healthier and will have Philip Rivers under center, and will win this game. Final score Chargers 34, Chiefs 14.
Oakland @ Denver. The Raiders are done but they're finally playing good football. The Broncos are starting to look sloppy, and Peyton Manning is starting to show signs of wear. While the Broncos should win this game, I think the Raiders win a close one. Final score, Oakland 24, Denver 21.
Arizona @ San Francisco. The Cardinals are playing good football, but they still don't have a QB. The 49ers are starting to look a little better, and this could be Harbaugh's last game with the team. 49ers scrape out a win, 21-20, as the Cardinals head into the postseason.
St. Louis@ Seattle. The Seahawks are playoff bound and the 12th man will come to play this week. Expect the Seahawks to put away the regular season with a win. Final score Seahawks 38, Rams 30.
Indianapolis @ Tennessee. The Titans are playing sloppy football lately, but so are the Colts. I think the Titans end the year with a win against a mediocre team as Andrew Luck shuts down under pressure. Final score Titans 28, Colts 24.
New Orleans @ Tampa Bay. The Bucs are bad. Very bad. The Saints are a slightly better team. I think the Saints scrape out a close one as the Bucs secure the 1st overall pick in 2015. Final score Saints 21, Buccaneers 20.
Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh. I'm going with my heart on this one. Ok maybe a lot. But the Bengals just hammered the Broncos in prime time. They also tend to split games with divisional rivals at worst. I think the Bengals squeak by this week and win, putting away any doubts about their ability to win in prime time, and making a case for Marvin Lewis to remain coach in 2015...If he can win in the playoffs. Final score Bengals 24, Steelers 20.
Philly @ New York Giants. Good old fashioned divisional rivalry. The Giants and Eagles are both out of contention, but the Giants are playing for Tom Coughlin's job. I think the team pulls together around him and they put out a signature win. Giants 45, Eagles 14.
Buffalo @ New England. The Patriots have nothing to play for and the Bills have beaten some solid teams this year. I think the Patriots may rest some starters, and I'm picking the Bills to come away with a win. Final score Bills 35, Patriots 21.
Chicago @ Minnesota. The Bears are a terrible, terrible team. The Vikings are a slightly better team. The Vikings win. 21-14.
New York Jets @ Miami. Rex Ryan's final game as a Jets head coach is terrible as the team implodes around him. the Dolphins come ready to knock off a hated divisional rival. Final score Dolphins 45, Jets 10.
Jacksonville @ Houston. The Texans are playing their butts off trying desperately to win their way into the playoffs. The Jags are playing for a draft pick. Texans win. Final score Texans 35, Jaguars 14.
Detroit @ Green Bay. The Battle for the NFC North! The Packers are at home and are a better team than the Lions. Packers will win this game, 24-12, securing a division title.
Cleveland @ Baltimore. Connor Shaw is embracing being the 22nd starting QB in 16 years for the Cleveland Browns, and he will lead them to victory over the team formerly known as the Cleveland Browns! Final score Browns 28, Ravens 20.
Carolina @ Atlanta. One of these teams has to win, and its a tough game to call. The winner goes to the playoffs at 7-9 and hosts a playoff game as a divisional champion. I'm going to go with karma as the Panthers defensive line coach, Eric Washington, bought Christmas presents to replace presents stolen from a family in Charlotte. Final score Panthers 20, Falcons 14.
AFC Divisional winners: Patriots (1 seed), Bengals (2 seed), Broncos (3 seed), Colts (4 seed).
AFC Wild Cards: Steelers (5 seed) and Chargers (6 seed).
NFC Divisional winners: Seahawks (1 seed), Packers (2 seed), Cowboys (3 seed), Panthers(4 seed).
NFC Wild Cards: Cardinals (5 seed) and Lions (6 seed).
Browns @ Ravens: so the Ravens realize the severity of this game. Luckily for them the NFL told the Browns to give them a free pass. What I mean is that Josh Gordon is suspended now and Hoyer as well as Manziel is out this weekend. Rookie Connor Shaw has to take a bad offense into Baltimore and try and play spoiler........ not happening. Ravens kill the Browns 38 - 17. Now they will have to watch the chargers game and hope they lose.
Cowboys @ Team with no identity: Weeden or Romo? well apparently the Cowboys practiced the starters full amount like they were going to play. They don't need to they will become the 3 seed with a win or a loss. I think starters play a half or quarter. Redskins got RGIII back as the starter like should have been all along. Cowboys win 24 - 20.
Colts @ Titans: The Colts are automatically the 4 seed in the AFC. I think to prevent rust the starters should play at least a quarter. Titans are looking for a really good draft pick and have no point to win this game. Colts win a boring pointless NFL game 28 - 17.
Jaguars @ Texans : Case Keenum take a freaking bow young man. You were in a duck blind last Thursday on the practice squad for the Rams. You get a call from Houston and come in and beat the Ravens senseless. Granted your defense picked off flacco 3 times. But still you did what you needed to win. The Jags need a good draft pick and will tank this game. The Texans defense will eat Bortles ALIVE. Texans win 27 - 14.
Chargers @ Chiefs: This game has meaning for both teams. Chiefs winning won't do anything though if the Ravens win or the Texans win. Chargers win and they are in though, they control their own destiny. Coming into this game knowing that Phillip Rivers needs to be on his A game. Playing against a division rival on the road is tough. Granted Chase Daniel is the starting QB for the Chiefs this weekend. But the Chiefs have Jamaal Charles and a solid defense. I still think Rivers vs Daniel will be to much for Chase. Chargers win 32 - 24.
Jets @ Dolphins: Rex Ryan's last game as a head coach at least for the Jets. This game is completely meaningless in terms of wins goes. Basically the loser of this game gets a better pick possibly in the draft. The Dolphins are the far superior team with the far superior coach and QB. Dolphins win the most boring game of the week 21 - 14.
Bears @ Vikings: This game is again for nothing more then bragging rights and a better draft pick. The Bears are starting Cutler this week which to me is smart. He is a better QB then he has shown this season. Him and Tressman just don't work together. The vikes should be happy though because Bridgewater has looked good this season. I am going to take him here in this game as well. Vikings win 27 - 24.
Bills @ Patriots : The Bills unknowingly tanked their season when they started Kyle Orton. They lost to Oakland last week of all teams the Raiders??? Orton is starting again this week which is crazy because his contract is up after today's game. Why not let EJ get some playing time. Trade Manuel please because he could be a good starter somewhere if they give him a chance. The Patriots have nothing to play for they are in as the 1 seed no matter what. I expect to see a lot of my boy Jimmy Garrapolo this weekend. Patriots win because Jimmy is a better player then Kyle Orton ( I am too). Pats win 34 - 21.
Eagles @ Giants: I am going to make this short and sweet. The Eagles will lose this game because they will be thinking about the season that should have been not what is. The Giants will finish off the season with a win 37 - 34.
Saints @ Bucs: The talks about Drew Brees being a top 5 QB drive me nuts!! If he was truly top 5 he would have at least won 8 games!! Especially since he is in a division where they have no 8 game winners. The Bucs are playing to lose because with a loss they would win the #1 draft pick and bring most likely the overrated Mariota in as QB. Saints win 28 - 10.
Panthers @ Falcons: This game the division winner will be below .500. One could finish 7-8-1 that team being Carolina. The other could finish 7-9 being Atlanta. Or if they tie we could see a 6-8-2 Carolina team in.The Falcons are without Steven Jackson which is a bad time to have lost their #1 RB. But I think it's not going to matter. I truly believe the Falcons are a better team then their record suggests. Matty Ice and Julio will be special as always and win this game 37 - 27.
Lions @ Packers : Lions haven't won in Lambeau in 22 consecutive games. They come in against Aaron Rodgers who might be the best QB of all time. The Lions are hot and the Packers are hot right now. The winner becomes the 2 seed. They are going to have a bye week and at least one home game. The Packers are what seems to be unbeatable I'm Lambeau. The Packers win sorry lions fans. Packers win this game 34 - 25.
Raiders @ Broncos : The Broncos are at home and they win they get the 2 seed. I know the Raiders won last week but that's because they played the second worst starting QB in the NFL. (#1 Being Kaepernick.) I got Denver wrapping this one up and beating Oakland. Broncos win 31 - 20.
Cardinals @ 49ers: The Cardinals should not have started Lindley. This might cost them the game regardless that they are facing Jokeapick. They should be starting Blaine Gabbert. The Niners are going to lost Harbaugh after this game. The Cardinals win and seahawks lose they are in the 2 seed. Cardinals will win though due to turmoil for the Niners. Cardinals win 22 - 20.
Rams @ Seahawks: Rams have nothing to play for except spoiler. I love Jeff Fisher it's no secret that Fisher is probably my second favorite coach in football, behind Pete Carrol. Seahawks have an incredible team top to bottom. They are playing for the one seed. Seahawks win this game 27 - 17.
Bengals @ Steelers: so the Bengals overcame prime time curse of Marvin Lewis last week and beat Peyton the pick Manning. The Steelers beat the Chiefs last week and are playing for a shot to become division winners and host a game. This game is a division rivalry and the importance of this game will raise the intensity of this game. I am going against the expected winners. Bengals win 35 - 31.
My picks would make playoffs look like this.
#1 Patriots, #2 Broncos, #3 Bengals, #4 Colts, #5 Steelers, #6 Chargers.
#1 Seahawks, #2 Packers, #3 Cowboys, #4 Falcons, #5 Cardinals, #6 Lions.
Due to the fact that I'm out of town visiting family, I'm going to make this quick.
Browns @ Ravens - Ravens win a crucial game at home, 24-13.
Cowboys @ Washington Native Peoples - Dallas wins, 27-20.
Colts @ Titans - Colts win, 24-13.
Jaguars @ Texans - Houston wins, 27-16.
Chargers @ Chiefs - Chargers win a crucial game, 27-24.
Jets @ Dolphins - Dolphins win at home, 28-16.
Bears @ Vikings - Vikings win, 24-17.
Bills @ Patriots - Patriots win, 24-16.
Eagles @ Giants - Eagles win, 26-24.
Saints @ Buccaneers - Saints win, 28-20.
Panthers @ Falcons - Panthers win, 24-21.
Lions @ Packers - Packers win, 28-20.
Raiders @ Broncos - Denver destroys Oakland, 46-3.
Arizona @ 49ers - Arizona wins, 27-13.
Rams @ Seahawks - Seahawks win, 27-23.
Bengals @ Steelers - Steelers win, 27-19.
I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday! Happy New Year!
