Week 3 of the 2016 NFL season is upon us, and so is a huge rash of injuries. Keenan Allen is out for the year. Teddy Bridgewater? Out for the year. All of the Patriots quarterbacks? Either suspended or injured. RGIII? Injured. Adrian Peterson? Injured. Doug Martin? Injured. Sammy Watkins? Injured. Danny Woodhead? Injured. Well, you get the point. It's a tough time to be an NFL player, but things are starting to fall into place as we head into week 3 of the 2016 regular season. Will the Vikings stay strong without Adrian Peterson and Teddy Bridgewater? How will a Cowboys-Bears matchup look with no Jay Cutler and no Tony Romo? There are some great matchups to come this Sunday. How do we envision the outcomes? Here are some picks!
Arizona Cardinals @ Buffalo Bills. The Bills are in dire need of a win, but they are a team in transition. Rex Ryan is coaching for his job right now, but the Cardinals are too good of a team for them to beat this week, especially without Sammy Watkins (or with a limited Watkins). Cardinals win in a close one. Final score: Cardinals 27, Bills 24.
Minnesota Vikings @ Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are a strong, strong team. However, so are the Vikings, and they may be even better without AP. Everyone is counting them out still right now, but I think the Vikings could pull this one off. I'm going with the upset. I'm going with the Vikings! Final score: Vikings 21, Panthers 20.
Denver Broncos @ Cincinnati Bengals. This is a tough game for me to pick. Both of these teams are doing some very good things, but both are also struggling. If Cincinnati can get over their mental lapses, they look like a very strong team. I think they pull out a big game at home against the Broncos following a disappointing loss against the Steelers. Bengals win this one. Final score: Bengals 27, Broncos 20.
Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers. The Packers had a surprise loss against the Vikings last week. Don't expect them to continue that habit at home against the Lions this week. This is a game that the Packers should, and will win. Final score: Packers 28, Lions 14.
Baltimore Ravens @ Jacksonville Jaguars. Baltimore almost lost to the Browns last week. Let that sink in for a moment. They rebounded, but that game scared me a bit. I think they struggle against a Jaguars team that is far superior to the Browns. Jaguars win. Final score: Jaguars 24, Ravens 7.
Cleveland Browns @ Miami Dolphins. I can't trust the Browns to win anything anymore. They've disappointed me two weeks in a row, so I have to pick Miami this week. But don't you worry, this will be the week that the Browns pick up their first win. Here's my prediction. Final score: Dolphins 27, Browns 24.
Washington Redskins @ New York Giants. The Giants defense is the real deal this week. Offensively they struggled last week against the Saints, but this team is playing some good football right now and will play hard against a divisional rival at home. Giants should win this one, barely. Final score: Giants 21, Redskins 20.
Oakland Raiders @ Tennessee Titans. This Titans team is looking decent this year, but the Raiders have more talent on both sides of the ball right now. I expect Oakland to win this one, even though they've had a relatively tough start to the year. Final score: Raiders 23, Titans 20.
San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks. I won't pick the 49ers to win a game until Kaepernick stands up for the National Anthem. Oh yeah, I forgot, the 49ers are also a terrible football team. Seahawks win. Final score: Seahawks 56, 49ers 6.
LA Rams @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Rams have a strong, strong defense, but they can't score points. That will make things tough for them against a Tampa Bay offense on the rise. Buccaneers win this one. Final score: Buccaneers 14, Rams 7.
San Diego Chargers @ Indianapolis Colts. I think this will actually be a pretty good game to watch. The Chargers look pretty solid without Keenan Allen. That being said, Indy looks like a team headed back to the playoffs even with the lack of a running game dating back to the end of the days of Edgerrin James. Colts win this one, barely. Final score: Colts 28, Chargers 27.
New York Jets @ KC Chiefs. Both of these teams are actually looking pretty strong to start the year. That being said, the Chiefs are making fewer mental mistakes than the Jets, and that gives them a slight edge at home. Final score: Chiefs 21, Jets 20.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Philadelphia Eagles. This might actually be the game of the week. The Steelers head to Philly to take on a resurgent Eagles team led by Carson Wentz. While Pittsburgh will throw everything they have at Wentz on defense, I think the rookie gets lucky and brings home a win. He's been on fire so far this year, and that will continue. Final score: Eagles 27, Steelers 20.
Dallas Cowboys @ Chicago Bears. Years ago this would have been a great game. However, Chicago is a team in rebuilding mode and Dallas is a team currently starting a 4th round pick at QB, Dak Prescott. The Bears are also missing their starting QB. This should be a sloppy game, but the Bears have the worse defense out of these two teams, and that gives the edge to Dallas. Final score: Cowboys 20, Bears 17.
Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints. This game should be a high scoring affair. Atlanta and New Orleans both have a ton of offensive weapons and some holes on defense. This turns into a shootout, but the Saints hold on for a close win at home. Final score: Saints 35, Falcons 30.
NFL Week 3:
NFL week 3 has begun and the weekend games should be a lot closer than the surprising blowout game that we saw on Thursday night.
Cardinals (1-1) @ Bills (0-2): Oh boy do I need to say anything? We will see the Cardinals destroy this Bills team being run by Rex Ryan who is absolutely terrible as a head coach. This game should be a one-sided blowout. Cardinals win 30 – 17 over the Bills.
Raiders (1-1) @ Titans (1-1): This will be an interesting matchup because the Raiders lack of defense has shocked me. While the Titans shocked me against Detroit last week and proved they can compete better than last year already. This game is a tossup but I am going to go with Raiders win 23 – 20 over the Titans.
Browns (0-2) @ Dolphins (0-2): The game of the 0-2’s. The Dolphins have the better overall roster and they are at home so it seems like a no brainer but I think the Browns could make this interesting. Tannehill needs to justify why the Dolphins took him. I am going with UPSET ALERT!!! Kessler and the Browns win 27 – 23 over the Dolphins.
Ravens (0-2) @ Jaguars (0-2): The Ravens get their third straight game against an 0-2 team. This 0-2 team is better than the other two though and this offense might actually be able to test the Ravens defense. I believe that Raven fans believe this is an automatic win but they should believe that because this game might actually be really good. I am excited to watch this one this Sunday. UPSET SPECIAL!!! Jaguars win 34 – 28 over the Ravens.
Lions (1-1) @ Packers (1-1): This is another division rivalry game for the Packers and I think the trip home will be the thing they need to start this home stand off on the right foot. The Lions will go toe to toe with them the whole game and make this one a good one. Packers win 34 – 31 over the Lions.
Broncos (2-0) @ Bengals (1-1): The Bengals are coming off a tough defensive battle against the Steelers in Pittsburgh and they now have to go home and face the undefeated Super Bowl Champs. This game should be a low scoring affair though and come down to the final drive possibly. Bengals win 20 – 17 over the Broncos.
Vikings (2-0) @ Panthers (1-1): This game is honestly just who can keep possession of the ball better and can Cam solve this incredible defense. I love that Carolina is almost a 7-point favorite because I believe the Vikings win 17 – 13 over the Panthers.
Redskins (0-2) @ Giants (2-0): To me this one is as simple as this, do the Giants keep playing good defense and can Eli keep his turnovers down? If so this game is a walk in the park. Giants win 29 – 17 over the Redskins.
Rams (1-1) @ Buccaneers (1-1): Defense vs. Offense. For the Rams can Gurley get going this year and really take off again? For the Bucs can Winston not get man-handled by a defense? This game will be interesting to watch. Rams win 15 – 10 over the Buccaneers.
49ers (1-1) @ Seahawks (1-1): This game should be as simple as they get for the Seahawks especially since they are at home. Seahawks win 27 – 13 over the 49ers.
Jets (1-1) @ Chiefs (1-1): I am going to take the home team in this one as it should be a battle of the defenses with two game managing QB’s at the helm. Chiefs win 17 – 16 over the Jets.
Chargers (1-1) @ Colts (1-1): I really think the Chargers proved something last week and the Colts did the opposite offensively. Chargers win 31 – 20 over the Colts.
Steelers (2-0) @ Eagles (2-0): The battle of PA taking place and it should be incredible!!!! The Steelers are the favorite on the road but I am going with the Eagles they just look to good as of late. Eagles win 21 – 17 over the Steelers.
Bears (0-2) @ Cowboys (1-1): This should be a onesided affair. Cowboys win 28 – 13 over the Bears.
Falcons (1-1) @ Saints (0-2): Division rivalry taking place on Monday night and it should be an offensive showdown. I am excited to watch this one. Saints win 30 – 27 over the Falcons
Cardinals @ Bills: The Cardinals are a much stronger team this year. My prediction: Arizona wins, 23-13.
Raiders @ Titans: Oakland has shown us that they have a strong offense this year. They just need to play defense. My prediction: Oakland wins, 27-17.
Browns @ Dolphins: The Browns are just having a bad season, and it's going to continue into this week. My prediction: Dolphins win, 20-16.
Ravens @ Jaguars: This game is more unpredictable compared to others, but the Ravens have come out strong this year. My prediction: Baltimore wins, 24-23.
Lions @ Packers: If the Packers can play better than when they played against the Vikings, this gamer should be an easy win for them. My prediction: Packers win, 23-17.
Broncos @ Bengals: This is a tough one to decide. My edge goes to Denver. My prediction: Broncos win, 34-27.
Vikings @ Panthers: This game could potentially be delayed due to protesters outside of the stadium. Carolina looks good this season, and they're at home. The Panthers will walk away with this one. My prediction: Panthers win, 28-20.
Redskins @ Giants: If the Redskins defense can show up to play today, the game will be theirs. However, I think they're still going to struggle, and New York will win this one at home. My prediction: Giants win: 23-16.
Rams @ Buccaneers: The Rams are a very unpredictable team right now. There is no guarantee if they will show up strong or week. I'm giving the edge to Tampa Bay since they're playing at home. My prediction: Bucs win, 24-17.
49ers @ Seahawks: The Seahawks are another very unpredictable team. However, I think they can rally this week after what happened last week. My prediction: Seattle wins, 14-13.
Jets @ Chiefs: The Jets are stronger this year compared to previous years. My prediction: Jets win, 23-13.
Chargers @ Colts: My prediction: Chargers win, 42-40.
Steelers @ Eagles: The Eagles look good this year, but I think that the Steelers are still more dominant. My prediction: Steelers win, 26-23.
Bears @ Cowboys: My prediction: Cowboys win, 24-20.
Falcons @ Saints: A very interesting matchup, as both offenses are on fire, yet both defenses are really struggling. This game is a very close call. My prediction: Saints win, 37-33.
Miami over Cleveland 20-13
Cincinnati over Denver 27-17
Jacksonville over Baltimore 20-14
Green Bay over Detroit 35-21
Oakland over Tennessee 24-17
Carolina over Minnesota 24-17
New York Giants over Washington 21-7
Arizona over Buffalo 17-10
Seattle over San Francisco 17-14
Las Angeles over Tampa Bay 20-13
