NFL Week 5: Bye week teams this week are the Buccaneers and Bears.
Titans (3-1) @ Bills (1-3): Alright the Titans are legit, and I am done doubting them. They have a great defense, one of the best. The Titans offense has had issues with injuries, but they keep on rolling like they aren’t missing a thing. The Bills on the other hand have a rookie QB so the ups and downs will continue. Their defense has shown some positives, but they need to remain off the field a bit more, so they aren’t so exhausted. Final Score: Titans 27 – Bills 13. – Matt Koontz
Bills 28 – Titans 24 – Mike B
Titans 27 – Bills 16 – Scott
Titans 21 – Bills 10 - Josh
Titans win, 24-13. - Tyler B.
Titans 35 – Bills 21 – Blake
Titans 28 – Bills 10 – Ryan
Falcons (1-3) @ Steelers (1-2-1): The Falcons defense is no longer existent with Keanu Neal, Deion Jones, and Ricardo Allen all being gone for the year has virtually ended their season. If they lose this game they slide to 1-4 and will be too far behind really to catch up in this division. The Steelers need to find a way to win this game because the Bengals and Ravens both could move to 4-1 with a win this weekend and they don’t want to fall behind that far. The issue is that the Steelers defense hasn’t been great this year and their offense has been lacking so far this year. This game will be an offensive showdown. Final Score: Falcons 32 – Steelers 29. – Matt Koontz
Falcons 24 – Steelers 20 – Mike B
Steelers 33 – Falcons 30 – Scott
Falcons 34 – Steelers 31 – Josh
Falcons win, 28-24. - Tyler B.
Falcons 42 – Steelers 35 – Blake
Falcons 35 – Steelers 28 – Ryan
Broncos (2-2) @ Jets (1-3): The Broncos are coming off back to back losses, but they looked good for 3 quarters of the game against the Chiefs. The play of Freeman and Lindsey was phenomenal last week and the emergence of Courtland Sutton is starting to become obvious, also needed for this team. The Jets are sliding since their impressive first week. They do need to show some life around Darnold and Robby Anderson getting involved would be a great start, but against Ronald Darby that will be hard for him to do so. Final Score: Broncos 23 – Jets 17. – Matt Koontz
Jets 28 – Broncos 27 – Mike B
Broncos 23 – Jets 17 – Scott
Broncos 21 – Jets 13 - Josh
Broncos win, 20-17. - Tyler B.
Broncos 24 – Jets 17 – Blake
Broncos 21 – Jets 17 – Ryan
Jaguars (3-1) @ Chiefs (4-0): The Jaguars defense vs the Chiefs offense will be a great matchup this week. The Jaguars offense isn’t a joke though and the Chiefs terrible defense could cost them as their offense might struggle to scores against the Jaguars. Mahomes will have to try and solve the puzzle of this defense after solving the Broncos defense. Final Score: Chiefs 27 – Jaguars 24. – Matt Koontz
Jaguars 21 – Chiefs 20 – Mike B
Chiefs 29 – Jaguars 26 – Scott
Chiefs 17 – Jaguars 14 - Josh
Jaguars win, 30-20. - Tyler B.
Chiefs 28 – Jaguars 21 – Blake
Chiefs 24 – Jaguars 14 – Ryan
Packers (2-1-1) @ Lions (1-3): The Packers defense might have played the Bills last week but they looked to be a top level defense. If the defense is able to continue playing well the Packers could be a super bowl contending team. Rodgers knee has really prevented him from playing at the level we are used to, thankfully with Aaron Jones back they can run the ball a good bit more. The Lions on the other hand finally have a great run game meanwhile Matt Stafford has been slow to start this year which is costing the Lions valuable ground in the division. Final Score: Packers 34 – Lions 25. – Matt Koontz
Packers 24 – Lions 17 – Mike B
Packers 27 – Lions 24 – Scott
Packers 31 – Lions 24 – Josh
Packers win, 23-20. - Tyler B.
Packers 35 – Lions 28 – Blake
Packers 31 – Lions 17 – Ryan
Ravens (3-1) @ Browns (1-2-1): The Ravens offense is terrifying for the first time since Derek Mason and Steve McNair were on the roster. Buck Allen is the superior back on the roster and they kept the offense moving once Alex Collins got less time after fumbling. John Brown is the deep threat this team really needed too. Now the Browns as I have said have a future with Baker, but the future isn’t this season as Tyrod should be given the start as he is more secure with the ball. Baker turned the ball over 4 times last week against the terrible Raiders defense and will now have to play the best defense in the league. Final Score: Ravens 31 – Browns 17. – Matt Koontz
Browns 24 – Ravens 21 – Mike B
Ravens 21 – Browns 20 – Scott
Ravens 17 – Browns 10 - Josh
Ravens win, 19-13. - Tyler B.
Browns 35 – Ravens 31 – Blake
Browns 21 – Ravens 17 – Ryan
Giants (1-3) @ Panthers (2-1): The Giants are a team that is a couple years from contending. Eli isn’t consistent enough and their offensive line isn’t doing enough to open the space for Barkley to run so most of his success is now as a receiving back. He has the talent to be a dual threat but with this offensive line it doesn’t look good. The Giants defense has been great it’s a shame their front office forgot that offensive lines are important. The Panthers on the other hand have been extremely solid this year and they will be without Olsen this weekend but that hasn’t slowed them down much so far. I love what Cam is doing so far this year and their defense is way better than I thought they would be. I believe this game is simple for Carolina. Panthers 26 – Giants 13. – Matt Koontz
Panthers 24 – Giants 23 – Mike B
Panthers 27 – Giants 20 – Scott
Panthers 20 – Giants 14 - Josh
Panthers win, 13-7. - Tyler B.
Panthers 31 – Giants 28 – Blake
Panthers 28 – Giants 21 – Ryan
Dolphins (3-1) @ Bengals (3-1): The battle between the two 3-1 teams with completely different stories. Miami looked great and then got smothered by that Patriots who were struggling. That game made us all ask the simple question of which Dolphins team is the actual Dolphins team or is it an in-between? The Bengals on the other hand won an impressive game over the Falcons in Atlanta. I really enjoy the what the Bengals have this year. This week they are also getting Joe Mixon and Vontaze Burfict back which will be huge for them. Bengals 31 – Dolphins 20. – Matt Koontz
Bengals 27 – Dolphins 24 – Mike B
Bengals 23 – Dolphins 17 – Scott
Bengals 27 – Dolphins 17 - Josh
Bengals win, 20-9. - Tyler B.
Bengals 38 – Dolphins 35 – Blake
Bengals 24 – Dolphins 10 – Ryan
4 :05/25 PM/ET:
Raiders (1-3) @ Chargers (2-2): The Raiders defense is going to continue getting shredded this season and give them no real hope at a good season under Gruden’s first tenure. They turned Baker over 4 times and still managed to let the Browns get 42 points, that is pathetic. The Chargers are coming in off a tough win against the Garrapolo-less 49ers. The offense isn’t the issue and will explode again this week. The defense is struggling even with a great team, its almost like Bosa is their defense which I admit he is incredible, but his heart and passion have to be questioned if he is truly only missing for a bone bruise. If its something more significant than I don’t doubt him but if it’s a bone bruise CMON MAN. Either way Rivers > Carr, Chargers WR’s > Raiders WR’s, Melvin > Lynch + Martin, Chargers D > Oakland D. This one is easy. Chargers 46 – Raiders 27. – Matt Koontz
Raiders 35 – Chargers 28 – Mike B
Chargers 31 – Raiders 27 – Scott
Chargers 20 – Raiders 14 - Josh
Chargers win, 28-21. - Tyler B.
Chargers 35 – Raiders 17 – Blake
Chargers 27 – Raiders 20 – Ryan
Cardinals (0-4) @ 49ers (1-3): The Cardinals are a better team with Josh Rosen at the helm and this week is their best chance this season to pick up a win. I like what Rosen showed us last week more than what we saw from Baker, Darnold, or Josh Allen last week, regardless of the loss. The 49ers are going to struggle without an arm that can air it deep but Beathard is a good QB and will give them a pretty good shot to win any week with him at the helm. Breida has been a beast which helps the 49ers and their defense is decent enough to keep them in games. This game is hard to call really. Cardinals 24 – 49ers 20. – Matt Koontz
Cardinals 24 – 49ers 14 – Mike B
Cardinals 23 – 49ers 16 – Scott
49ers 21 – Cardinals 13 - Josh
49ers win, 23-13. - Tyler B.
Cardinals 21 – 49ers 17 – Blake
Cardinals 24 – 49ers 13 – Ryan
Vikings (1-2-1) @ Eagles (2-2): The Vikings defense has gone AWOL this yea. Did they think getting Cousins means you can take time off? I have no idea what is happening in Minnesota but have no doubts Mike Zimmer will fix that nonsense. The one issue I do worry will continue to plague the Vikings is Kirk Cousins fumbles as they have been way too often this year. The Eagles had a lot of missing pieces to start the year on offense and they are coming back. They might take some time to get there but these Eagles will be legit contenders in a couple weeks. This game is tough to call because both teams are better than they have played, and both could become that team we expect to see anytime soon. Vikings 16 – Eagles 13. – Matt Koontz
Vikings 27 – Eagles 23 – Mike B
Eagles 30 – Vikings 26 – Scott
Vikings 34 – Eagles 27 - Josh
Eagles win, 38-28. - Tyler B.
Eagles 42 – Vikings 38 – Blake
Vikings 35 – Eagles 28 – Ryan
Rams (4-0) @ Seahawks (2-2): Well this one is simple. The Rams are the best team in the league and the Seahawks are far from. That’s all I need to say plus Russell Wilson struggles against the Rams. Rams 38 – Seahawks 17. – Matt Koontz
Seahawks 21 – Rams 20 – Mike B
Rams 30 – Seahawks 21 – Scott
Rams 34 – Seahawks 20 - Josh
Rams win, 33-24. - Tyler B.
Rams 31 – Seahawks 21 – Blake
Rams 31 – Seahawks 20 – Ryan
8:20 PM/ET SNF:
Cowboys (2-2) @ Texans (1-3): The battle for Texas on Sunday night football. Thank god this game isn’t Joe Buck and Troy Aikman or we would hear about Zeke morning to night. This should be a great game the 2nd best back in the league right now in Zeke vs an explosive offense with a shiny new toy named Keke Coutee. This will be fun fans buckle up for a great Sunday night game. I believe the home team is the better team regardless of records because they at least have WR’s that can do something which will make the difference in this game. Texans 27 – Cowboys 23. – Matt Koontz
Texans 28 – Cowboys 24 – Mike B
Texans 24 – Cowboys 17 – Scott
Texans 27 – Cowboys 17 - Josh
Texans win, 20-16. - Tyler B.
Texans 35 – Cowboys 32 – Blake
Cowboys 20 – Texans 17 – Ryan
8:15 PM/ET on ESPN:
Redskins (2-1) @ Saints (3-1): The Redskins have been a nice surprise this season and are coming off a bye week. They have a great QB and a decent WR corps. Jordan Reed is definitely going to need to stay healthy for this offense to still be good. Their opponent the Saints have been so dangerous regardless of their horrendous defense. They can’t expect to go far if their defense doesn’t come around but for now their high-octane offense is fun as hell to watch. They are getting Mark Ingram back making the duo of Kamara and Ingram a terrifying thing to be unleashed onto the league this Sunday for a 2nd straight season. Enjoy another primetime shootout classic on Monday night as Bree’s goes for the most passing yards of all time. Saints 37 – Redskins 32. – Matt Koontz
Redskins 24 – Saints 23 – Mike B
Saints 31 – Redskins 27 - Scott
Saints 31 – Redskins 24 - Josh
Saints win, 34-20. - Tyler B.
