New Jersey Jets @ Cleveland Browns. The Jets look surprisingly not terrible this season, and the Browns are coming off of a brutal loss to the Cincinnati Bungles. This would suggest that the Jets are the team to pick this week. However, Cleveland is a better team than they showed last week against Cincy, and they will be hungry to win in front of their home fans. Cleveland wins. Final Score: Browns 14, Jets 10.
Carolina Panthers @ Detroit Lions. The Panthers are coming off of a statement game in week 4, and hope to keep their momentum going against the Lions. I think they pull that off, as Cam Newton and Devin Funchess again both have big games. Panthers win. Final score: Panthers 24, Lions 14.
San Francisco 49ers @ Indianapolis Colts. Is this game part of the battle for the 1st overall pick? Fortunately for the Browns, the 49ers also break through for a win this week in what should amount to a sloppy game. Final score: 49ers 35, Colts 28.
Tennessee Titans @ Miami Dolphins. The Titans just got destroyed by the Texans. That makes me nervous about this team. That being said, Miami is pretty sloppy too. If the Titans come to play, they can win this game with a better offense than Miami's. Final score: Titans 24, Dolphins 10.
Buffalo Bills @ Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals just beat the Browns. They do not, however, have the offensive line talent to beat the Bills. Their offensive line is, well, offensive, and I think the Bills capitalize on that this week. Bills win. Final score: Bills 34, Bengals 28 in overtime.
LA Chargers @ New Jersey Giants. One of these 0-4 teams has to win, right? I'm going with the Chargers in this one as Philip Rivers puts together a good game and gives Eli Manning yet another reason to hate the Chargers. Chargers win. Final score: Chargers 10, Giants 7.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Pittsburgh Steelers. The Jaguars are clearly a team on the rise this season. However, they are not ready to beat Pittsburgh. Steelers win this one. Final score: Steelers 35, Jaguars 27.
Arizona Cardinals @ Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are an improved team this year, but I don't think they beat the Cardinals this week. Arizona should win this one. Final score: Cardinals 21, Eagles 17.
Seattle Seahawks @ LA Rams. This Rams team is greatly improved from last year, but the Seahawks are about to come out of their slump and get hot. I think the Seahawks win this one on the road. Final score: Seahawks 24, Rams 22.
Baltimore Ravens @ Oakland Raiders. Will Derek Carr be healthy this week? If not, can Joe Flacco put together a solid game? Something is up with Flacco and I don't trust him. Raiders roll at home. Final score: Raiders 14, Ravens 10.
Green Bay Packers @ Dallas Cowboys. This game could decide playoff seeding in the NFC. Both of these teams are loaded with talent, but the Packers are dealing with injuries. However, Mike McCarthy won a Super Bowl with half of the Packers roster out due to injury (I'm exaggerating, but only a tiny bit). Packers win this one on the road. Final score: Packers 24, Cowboys 23.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Houston Texans. Are the Houston Texans for real? Is DeShaun Watson the best QB in this year's draft class? I think the answer to both of those questions is yes, and I think the Texans prove that this week with a huge victory over the Chiefs. Final score: Texans 23, Chiefs 20.
Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears. Are the Bears who we think they are? This is a team that is giving Mitch Trubisky his first career start against a strong Vikings defense. Mike Zimmer is strong against rookie quarterbacks; over the past decade, no quarterback who has posted their first career start against a Mike Zimmer defense has thrown for a touchdown. That streak continues this week as the Vikings beat the Bears. Final score: Vikings 35, Bears 21. Trubisky puts up an approximately 50% completion percentage (one pass over 50% is my guess).
NFL Week 5: Every team in the league this year with exception to Kansas City have been inconsistent this season. This year has been hard to call games but here our my best thoughts for this week. We will see the Falcons, Saints, Broncos, and Redskins be the first teams with the originally scheduled bye weeks.
